revenge is stupid. Is it going to bring your friend/partner back from the dead?

People do stupid things all the time. In tragedy, one might walk very close to the line of insanity - in which case , anything is possible, and stupid things are probable.

Concerning the murderer - I think every person deserves a chance for change.

Imagine a person who committed a murder 20 years ago, but had so much personal growth and change, he is now a doctor savings lives, or an engineer building bridges, or a schoolteacher. How many people's lives has he affected positively now?

Although it wasn't a romantic relationship, my best friend was murdered 9 years ago by her brother. I spent years obsessing over revenge.

However, her parents displayed an incredible example. They found a way to forgive and love the son who brutally took away their daughter.

About 5 years after it happened, my heart started to change and soften. Taking revenge seemed so trivial and selfish. After all, his parents still love him...how could I put them through more pain? He is set to be released from jail in two years...it will be interesting to see how I feel about him then. But I can say that time and forgiveness truly does heal all wounds.

Because I have already been through a tragic situation, I can say that, hypothetically, even if the love of my life were to be taken from me, I would find a way to overcome without resorting to violence and hatred. How does the phrase go? "Bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die..."

Love never fails.

If it was me, I'd rather have them go to jail, even if I knew I had an understable reason to kill them. Mainly, because my conscience wouldn't let me live with me killing someone.

I'd like to have revenge, but I really don't want to waste a second of my life trying to figure out how to effectively do it.

my family friend was just assiasnated because he wanted his money back he borrowed someone and that guy had it. i think here is a better way for revenge. break the spinal cord neck down and terminate all nerve connections, then blind them + damage hearing so deaf and destroy voice box and let them rot and think of what they done, i think killing them is too easy a punishment. they need to have a punishment that is so barbaric that they want to commit suicde but can't.

I would Find them, trap them in a room somewhere Without any food, Any windows, or any doors. Like a small compact cement room and give them a samurai sword. They could either choose to kill themselves or go crazy in that small concrete room. Then i would laugh while i watched from a hole in the concrete wall. :D

Sick i know.

i see no point in taking revenge through violence.
im not the type of person who's obsessed in torturing someone under the name of taking a revenge, but sometimes when i feel like being cheated or such i always find a way for that someone to fall under the same circumstances as mine when i was in my hard time because of him/her.

but whenever i did it i never really think of 'ha serves you right asshole'. instead, i want that person to know the hardship of his/her victim had to go through because of his/her selfish act, in hope that he/she will not behave the same as how she/he used to be.

but if the case has gone to parts engaging gore/violence, i'd rather have the law to punish him/her instead. there's no point in taking barbaric retaliation srsly.

it'll be much better if you guys have the heart to purely forgive that someone though. [which is hard i know]

Well if the police are not going to do anything about it or they can't track him/her down then I will do it for sure! I would shoot him on the legs/arm one by one until he begs for forgiveness. Which I won't give him. Or else just let him go to prison and let him live his life until death finds him.

I don't think you can ever forgive someone who murdered someone you cared or loved...Unless that person is innocent...

Hey thats a good idea! I like what you said about breaking the spinal cord but it's a bit hard isn't it? Or push him off the rooftop and make sure he will survive it...hmm
