"Wow! You clean up well, don't you"

I'd say this one tbh. The bedroom ones? Not so much. As a rule, if your female partner says to you "Oh you're the best sexual partner i've ever had" or "Wow you're so huge!", 9 times out of 10, she's lying to you

Saying you clean up well however is probably the best compliment a female can give a male (In regards to appearance anyway), as it does not imply either cuteness or manliness, it's a neutral compliment, and he can (and will) take it whichever way he prefers to think of it.

As a rule though, the word cute should be taboo, most men have no idea how to respond to that, as it doesn't fire up any of the 'I am man' genes xD

EDIT: To clear this up in case some are misunderstanding it, saying 'Wow you clean up well' is often said when, for example, if you were going to a dinner party and came downstairs in a new suit as opposed to your shorts and t-shirt. Means you look good basically. As a rule it's not used in the context of 'cleaning your house' or other, less sanitary pursuits

This applies to me. I'm not a slob, but I don't spend a lot of time on my appearance. Once in awhile an event comes along where I have to dress up and I tend to get that compliment. " You clean up well" might not be the best compliment, but I 'll take what I can get.....

"Wow, you're really smart." - will go for both guys and girls. Anytime one gets complimented for smartness, it really does flatter them.

I've kinda stopped complimenting guys because most of them get the wrong impression. I used to compliment as freely as I would my girl friends, (about their clothes or hair or talents) but this has since caused me too much grief.

So I think I'll only mention something to a guy if he does something that's truly outstanding. Or if he's my boyfriend; then I can be free to flatter all I want.

I personally like getting compliments more on my personality and stuff like that opposed to physical compliments.
