So over the years of life in high school i have noticed my steady decline of grades, my lack of concentration, my motivation being flushed down the toilet, and when i look at the average life i start going, Ya man that's what i want. I'm not depressed, matter of fact I'm feeling pretty good.
That's when i started seeing that it wasn't just me its damn near everyone. The only people who are making it through all fine and dandy are those hyper intelligent people who tend to freak if they didn't get a 95% or higher. Of course i live in a small town in old Canada so i wouldn't know how city school rock it out with grades. So in short i was just wondering if this is an actual problem for all schools, such as they are piling on the work enough to give someone an ulcer or something, or if its just our students are just getting more and more lazy. So how are your schools going as far as motivated students and what not.

Yeah, that's pretty much my school too. Though I also go to school in a small town in Canada. Wouldn't it be strange if it was the same one?

well for me it's kinda the opposite, besides the lack of motivation.
At my place, teachers are really nice, but they kind of pile up the homework to the max and don't really teach...they just kinda make the 52-minute class time pass by.
and yea, for my school no one really cares about their grades until senior year then they start freaking about college @_@?

nope Canada's just like that though probably not every where my school was like that too though probably a higher percentage of student activity......i can honestly say i wasn't one of them, i pretty much slept through most of my classes save for tech and personal fitness...and history but that was just cuz the teachers were cool and two of those are pretty much impossible to sleep through though i kept up about a 75% average on what i was awake to hear.......wow looking back how did i make it through high school o.0

Hmm it seems the harder i try in school the harder it gets, maybe if i don't try at all i would do good. Worth a try at least.

Same thing's happening to me, dammit. I was a straight A student throughout elementary & middle, but high school has sucked the motivation outta me. The teachers pile on an insane amount of homework, and if you miss one day, you're screwed. I have a few friends who throw fits if they don't get higher than 94%. The rest of us just try to get by without losing our sanity :/

A lot of my teachers understand their students. They give easy homeworks, discuss thoroughly the subject, and sometime just gives us resting period. :D
...
WHAT I FREAKIN HATE IS THE TEACHER WHO SPEAKS LIKE A ROBOT AND MAKES EVERYONE FALL ASLEEP AND FAIL THE CLASS 0.o

In grade 8 I failed my math class, took summer school for it.
In grade 9 I failed my socials class, took summer school for it.
In grade 10 I failed my math, didn't take summer school for it.
In grade 11 I failed math 10 again because I kept on skipping. They passed me anyways because they don't want a black mark on their record.
I'm in grade 12 right now, I'm currently failing all my classes and I'm about to drop out and join the army.

Ya, my marks have declined a bit. My overall absentee days mark as a month and a half of skipped classes of grade twelve courses (four classes a day, 5 days a week).

Do I regret all this? Every single moment, I wish I put in more effort and I wish it wasn't to late. It's odd, before I didn't care but now that its over I do care. Go figure. If I don't join the army ill become some bum on the street or a guy working at McDonalds... oh well.

I believe a lot of schools go through that. As for my old high school, yeah they did the same, but I saw an alarming number of kids failing & dropping out. lol the school is in trouble today cause of it. I lost my enthusiasm & motivation towards 7th grade, so because of that, I stopped caring about my grades. I didn't want to fail so I kept trying to push myself & not end up like the ones who gave up. & the rest is history.
