I believe that is something that happens everywhere, when u enter freshman year you only want to make friends and have fun, and that last until the beginnin of senior year, when you only start to worry about your grades in order to be able to enter to prom that night, and to pass the finals in oder to graduate!! Or at least that is what I have seen, experience in my high school!!!

I was always in the library studying during free lessons. I didn't even study for GCSE's but I still did well because it was a piece of piss.

I had to work hard for A-Level though and studied for a few hours a day.

So I'm not a genius...I just work really hard.

teachers in my high school didn't seem to care at all about what it was they were teaching and some of them didn't seem quite so sure at all about what they were teaching, as a result i never paid attention at all instead i had to figure everything out on my own. Ever since then i've never asked any of my teachers for help.

Mmm, freshman year was just a networking year. But now I have to take sophomore and junior year seriously because I hear that they look at those two years the most since senior year grades come in too late. I'm beginning to lose some of my motivation in some classes because I feel like I don't need to know some things because it doesn't apply to the field I want to major in. Other than that, I need to keep trying hard because I don't know where I'm going after high school.

I guess it's just probably the courses that are getting harder as you advance and you can't seem to keep up with them. So your grades slowly decline, and due to this declination, you lose all motivation to do better because you just know it'll decline. For me, my grades have pretty much stayed the same throughout my three years and now in fourth. I've lost most of my motivation, however, due to teachers constantly nagging about how no one will check hwk in college/university and no more babysitting, so I could care less about hwk.

My tip to you is to just go to your classes. Take down some notes, it'd keep you awake. Review your notes as hwk if you really don't care about hwk. If not then just do your hwk. Relax more, when you're too uptight your mind gets scrambled.

Its normal, simply because the work gets so much harder. You can't honestly expect to get above 90% every test in every subject, just not possible.

Trust me its worse in university. Where I live (UK), I did quite well all the way through school, consistently getting over 80% in most subjects, ones I cared for anyway. When I got into uni suddenly I was happy for 40% and a pass...

They definitely had. When I first started, I think I was on the honor roll. Later on, when I started caring more about what people THOUGHT, my grades started slipping. In the end, I got some pretty good grades but they were horrible in between. =_=
