The bishounen characters I see in yaoi or in real life are just more pretty looking. Why does that mean they have to look like girls? They don't have boobs or vaginas....so wtf? People that complain about this obviously cannot tell the difference between a girly girl and a pretty guys features. Look for the adams apple if it's that hard...enough said.

ugh, I would love to kno the same thing, I cant watch any anime with too many girly men, it creeps me out, like the guys from Wallflower for example: God they freak me out *shudders*

That reminds me, another thing I cant stad is those stupid sparkly flowing hair scenes that pretty-much every bishoujo guy gets -.- It just makes them seem that much more pansy-ish

Though personally I dislike super manly men too, that and guys that are super-muscular, I find them gross if u can see like every freaking muscle in their body (exadurating a bit). A Six-pack is always nice though but yeah super manly or super muscular guys are icky, but so are girly men, there's gotta be a happy medium. Oh and guys with chest hair is gross too aside from just the lil line goin down from the naval its just...ugh. Plus it makes cuddling wen the guys shirt is off a lot less fun.

My friend is actually like REALLY super into bishounen guys (like the guys from OHSHC) and some other shoujo thing she reads and I'm just like..."You like these "guys" why? O.o" That and my other friend used to be super iinto the guys from VK and Ikuto from Shuugo Chara (he's not too too girly though).

P.S. Would Jakotsu of InuYasha be considered bishounen eventhough he's made like that cuz he's gay for Inuyasha?

I didn't bother to go through the several pages of replies but here is my answer. I apologize if someone has already brought this up. There was a study into this a while back. After several paragraphs of reading this study it basically boils down to this. It is the cave man effect as some might say. This cave man theory says that those who have high standards, i.e. rich, have health care, so on and so forth. They prefer men who are’girlie’ because they don't have to worry about birthing 'strong' children. This is because they have money or health care that will cover this. Those of us who have low standards, i.e. those of us who are poor, don't have health care, so on and so forth. They have the tendency to want men who are 'strong looking', or can birth children who will be healthy. Please do not get angry with me, this was an actual study and that is what it summed up to. I thought it was interesting and made some bit of sense.
