I just finished watching the first episode of Sora no Woto. Many people thought that this series would just be an army version of K-ON! Though the animation style is very similar, I have to say that that's about all it has in common. The animation in this show is beautiful (as in the scenes of the town where the story takes place), and the plot seems like it could be either very interesting, or very boring... who knows at this point.

Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/So_Ra_No_Wo_To

The plot revolves around a girl named Kanata Sorami. When she was all alone at a young age as a result of war, she found inspiration in a trumpeteer she met. She decides to join the army and become a trumpeteer herself, hoping to learn well since she is quite bad at it. She is assigned to the town of Seize, where she is taken care of by Rio Kazumiya, her trumpet instructor, and the rest of the squadron.

I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts?

I'm sad. The art was so nice and now it's moe blobbed. I mean nothing against it but the other was much better.

I think they story might end up being kind of deep.

But after Chu-bra and Ladies vs Butlers... this is a good change in my opinion. Even though its obviously ultra-moe-fied, at least it doesn't plot ending panty shots every 15 seconds.

KyoAni... what's new? They've always had that style.

Although I thought they'd skip out on a Winter release, given they have plans for an early Spring release of Disappearance. Still, I'm open to whatever KyoAni has to give us.

Ok, this is NOT made by KyoAni. This kind of art is a usual type of art design that many anime studios use. Not every anime studio does this, but KyoAni and others do. The real anime studio ( It isn't only a anime studio only though ) that created this show was A-1 Studios, which is a studio that I watch most shows from ( Fairy Tail, Kannagi, Persona, etc ). So yeah, this is just a popular design

episode 1 bored me, too.

Just skip episodes 1-5. You won't miss anything by skipping all the way to episode 6, anyway.

Yeah, it's a slow-paced anime, but I rather liked Sora no Woto. It's boring in the first half for a reason and the last two episodes explain everything that happened before it. It's like no story then BAM! It cranks up at the end.
