I know a lot of people consider the El Hazard series to be better dubbed, but I found it lacking.

For me there's Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal Panic. And Saiyuki.

Full Metal Panic, especially, the original voice actors are fairly bad. Especially Yukana, she's simply TERRIBLE as Teletha Testarossa.

Saiyuki is particularly painful for me, because they changed the dubbing company between Saiyuki and Saiyuki Reload (from ADV to Geneon) which means the dub actors changed, and I really liked Illich Guardiola and co. (Even Vic Mignogna, who I usually HATE.) So I don't like the Geneon dub, and I don't like the original language, so I've never gotten to finish the series.

I used to have the theory that any anime you originally saw in English, you'd prefer in English (esp. those of us who grew up with Toonami and the Anime Network). But I've since gone back to a number of series I watched that way, and with most of them (Rune Soldier Louie and Gundam Wing esp.) I found I preferred the subs.

Dragonball Z
Outlaw Start
Clannad
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

It isn't that I dislike the Japanese voices in any of these. I just fell in love with the series as dubs and have a hard time changing that up.

You HAVE to watch Hetaila english dub! You can hear the accents of all the different countries and it makes it easier to understand. Other than that anime I love english subs. Helps me with my japanese

Aren't we forgetting the best dub in existence?

Cowboy Bebop of course. It's one of the only ones that didn't make me want to pound nails in my ears.

Evangelion
Eureka Seven
Cromartie High School

...That's pretty much it. I'm usually fine with both sub and dub, but IMO the three anime I've listed are cases where the English dub is infinitely superior to the original Japanese dub.

Hellsing, Ghost Stories, Dragonball and Full Metal Panic are probably the only ones I like dubbed. One of the worst has to be Naruto LOL

Edit: I forgot Shin Chan!

Clannad? I watched some of the sad episodes of after story today to see if it still made me cry, and it didnt. maybe because I'm used to the Japanese voice, but I couldnt feel emotion in the english dub (trust me I've watched EVERY sad part of after story too).

To an extent DragonBall. I dont hate the Japanese Voices (I'm used to the Son's voices, which is most people's concern), I just dont love the original score. When compared to other shows the score is downright terrible IMO. The Bruce Falconer score isnt great either, as I feel like it's added in during useless scenes (A character could be walking out the bathroom and their theme music is played lol. Not o mention that Captain Ginyu them is ALWAYS repeated).

I've never tried to watch Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon in Japanese because I grew out of them before I started watching subbed anime.

I thought Emma was only released in the US without a dub? I bought and own both seasons =/
I'd be curious about a dub just because of the fact it's in a historical English setting, though that doesn't mean I'd prefer it.

Animax has their own team of VAs and Emma is just one of their dubbed anime.

OMG are you SERIOUS? I liked Emma (the manga was just superb though) and I'd LOVE to see it in dub form! Do they have accents?

Of course, all anime in their English Channel are dubbed. Their accent in Emma is more like American than British and it's lifeless at certain times. But this was 6 years ago when I last subscribed and perhaps they have improve a bit.

Cowboy Bebop. Eva was that way for a while but once the Rebuild movies came out I got over it because I wanted to see them so bad and didn't wanna wait over a year for US BDs.

I vastly prefer the dub of Pani Poni Dash but if they made a sequel to that, I don't know if I'd be able to wait forever to possibly never (I think it tanked here in the US) for it to get dubbed and released over here.

I guess I'll wait and hope there's a great dub of Polar Bear Cafe because I *hate* the VA for the Panda.

I have NEVER heard of a dub! I've never even come across a clip of the dub ANYWHERE! So even if it's sucky, I'd like to check it out.
