Same here in Belgium, no new series. I'm better off paying for a VPN service trough some other country than paying for a membership. Yeah, the money goes the wrong way then, but at least I get some content. I don't know whether it's some other company that got the rights for these regions, or CR is just trying to be as cheap with what they pay the creators as they can. Region restrictions won't bring in any extra money, you idiots (this being directed to whoever is at the source of being responsible for that). Here's another membership less.

i havn't cancled my membersship yet. i feel the people behind crunchyroll are resposible people that will atleast read / take into consideration what i wrote.

the point is that they have these memberships so people can get subtitled anime in a way that benifects the creators while giving the positive side of us not having to wait for a fansubgroup that might drop it. i love this idea. however if no series are availible for me to watch that i cant watch without the membership what is the point of having the membership?

my point is. i dont mind paying to watch anime. however i dont feel like donating with no return.

ofcourse most of us dont know how gaining the licenses realy works nor how restrictive it realy is. i thank crunchyroll for doing it in the first place. however it might be an idea to look into getting these licenses for the EU as a whole instead of a select few members of it.

Thats exactly my point and I bet a whole lot others looking at it in the same way. Of course the owners wanna make as much money out of their content as somehow possible but like with so many other things, music, movies and shows just to quote a few examples, they are doing it the completely wrong way. By giving away licences for olny a few selected ones and leaving a lot other countries completely without any at all they think that this will push their DVD and manga sales. And that is the most childish and stupid way you could ever think about it imho. That strategy is like a kick to the nuts (as for the ladies around lets say it ain't a very nice feeling at all ) for those that actually would want to pay or, like in this case, has already prooven that they really do pay for their content.

This way all the owners will do is driving those that actually would pay to go and look for other sources they gonna get it from. And those sources most likely won't be any legal ones and they also most likely not gonna cost the user one dime. That way the owners not olny gonna get less cash from crunchyroll cause more and more members gonna cancel their memberships sooner or later cause they feel like beeing used as cashcows that get nothing worthy back. But also they gonna increase the use of none legit sources. IMHO if that is what the owners want well so be it but if I was a rights owner that is the very last situation I wanted to create myself, espcially when having a partner like CR with whom I not olny could make a lot money directly but also have them increasing the popularity in other countries that usually might be hard to reach via the traditional media like TV networks etc. And that in the end will help me to increase my sales figures of my DVDs or mangas or whatever in those countries. Maybe that might sound a bit naive but it sounds pretty logical to me at least IMHO.

The only anime I really wanted to get licensed was Nodame Cantabile Finale, but I guess that couldn't be worked out.

I won't go blame CR for that, though. I love what they're doing and I'll be sure to check out some of the anime they were able to get.

Since, I really liked K-ON, I thought that this anime would be interesting as well (from looking at the artwork). So far episode 1 was pretty awesome; I am planning to see more of this.
