Celebrities who support organizations are just doing it for the publicity, with a few exceptions maybe like Nickelback but otherwise, they aren't smart enough to realize the issues in the world. So basically, its just their managers telling them to donate so they'd be known for being nice or whatever. But, the thing is, they do donate, even if its not for the right reasons. They are helping, even if they don't fully mean to, so I've got nothing to complain about,.

but what about the one who actually get involved by doing work, whatever it may be. is that also for publicity.
then again, does that mean that no one really cares about those who suffer.

^ I'm not saying all celebrities are like that. I'm only saying quite a bit are. True, I've heard of some celebrities actually taking action such as Hayden Panettiere for example, but otherwise, I really haven't heard about that much celebrities who actually do do something instead of just giving a check in public or going to a country to take pictures with the ones in poverty. Celebrities maybe do care, who really knows? But on their priorities list, getting a big hit song or auditioning for a movie probably comes first.

while it's great that they want to help out the world (publicity or no publicity), they could do a better job helping out. giving out charity to those poor country is like giving a fish to a fisherman. what he needs more is fishing rod.

if i'm those celebrity, instead of spending millions of dollars in charity, i would spend those million dollar to open an huge agriculture farms on poor country, enough to feed the country so nobody there would starve anymore. Sell the product really cheap or even no profits at all. This way, you open up job vacancy and at the same time producing food.

Then i'd open a medicine factory. I read somewhere they don't even have a generic medicine in africa. This means the pharmacy from overseas sells their product in there trying to make profit. Can you imagine it? there's people out there making money out of other people that are dying!

Bottom line is: I think those celebrity are nice for at least trying to help out, but shoot, they should try to help in a better way.

It's nice for them to do it but they might just be doing it for popularity but at least they help contribute. (:
