I babysat a newborn once. I found the whole thing surprisingly OK, even though I was like 13 or 14 at the time. I have high maternal instincts, so I connect with young children easily.

My mom once had to run to an appointment and I had to watch my nephew for a little bit. It was horrible. He started crying, I gave him the bottle.... And as he drank it down, it was like some sort of nasty timer that when the liquid ran out I'd be in trouble again. Luckily his mother came to get him right as it was running out...

I hate kids.

I would charge something incredible if any of my family wanted me to babysit.

You think that's hard? Ha! Try babysitting a spoiled 3-year-old who's used to getting whatever she wants. She cries all the time and will not do anything by herself, especially going to the bathroom. And her room, good lord! Her room is painted yellow and decorated with Dora The Explorer. She has a desktop and a freakin' HD plasma TV with a gazillion toys and books.

And if you think 4 hours is bad, try babysitting over night from 10:30PM to 9:00AM, but I get paid a pretty penny. Tell me how many teenagers you know get paid $125 to watch one kid? And the kitchen is filled with soda and candy, greatest job ever.

I say you have no reason to complain. And besides, babysitting a 6 month old is going to be difficult to begin with.

hahahah well i'm sure u r a lucky person but to me it was hard coz i was soo confused !! and the way he cried was not normal at all !! seriously i felt like he was kicked on his bak or something !!!!! plus he's the quiet kind of kids so seeing him cryin was really surprising me !!

I babysit everyday. For free.

See, I wouldn't mind it if the kid isn't aggravating. But this kid, we have to fight for the game system.
Then I have to let him play because he'll cry if he doesn't get to, or I'll get a lecture from his mom saying I need to let the young ones enjoy first, then you. Then he'll play and won't shut up. What really bothers me is that he always repeats the sound effects and speeches from the game like I'm slow or something.

Uhm, complain alot ?

I've babysat my 4 brothers up thru the years. never earned a penny, and it wasn't just all smile and shut up.
Try babysitting a 8 year old, so spoiled he will act like a 2 year old if he doesn't get his will..

I've babysit three kids at the same time.

Went smoothly.

So just learn to interact with kids.
