to me babysitting isnt that hard and ive worked in a daycare with 7 kids from the ages 6months to 12yo. and ive also taught a sunday school and ive also worked in a preschool with like 13 kids in it...you just have to know your way around kids...im working on my own kid right now...im 4 months pregnant.
oh and i was also a nanny for 2 very spoiled and violent boys

woooow i envy u XP i'd rather kill myself than working with kids though i'm really cool with em and love them ! plus i give em everything they want yet they r mean to me T.T and congrats hun u make sure to take a gd care of urself and ur baby

you will learn that even though you give them what they want that isnt always the answer...sometimes it can make the situation much worse. they need to respect you and not just think that they can be little brats to get what they want. its difficult at first but if you want to try again (babysitting), it just takes time and practice and the right kinds of discipline. some people just dont work well with kids (which isnt a big deal) and some people only work well with taking care of their own when or if they choose to, it just depends on the person, not something to worry about. good luck though if there is a next time for you in the babysitting world lol

Well once I had to babysit for a friend whose house was supposedly haunted. It freaked me out -- I had to keep the front wooden door open because I felt safer that way. Couldn't a ghost just slam it shut, though? Buzzkill.

And speaking of which, I read this really scary babysitting story. It was about this girl who was babysitting and this phone that kept ringing. Every time she picked it up, a creepy man kept telling her "I'm coming" and then "I'm almost there" and then "Any minute now." She called the operator who later told her that the calls were coming from inside the house, and not too long after, the freak started walking down some stairs with this twisted grin on his face.

I think one of the kids had called the police right after the operator had told her the news, because the police came and took the man away before he was able to do any harm. But still, it was like, what if they hadn't? 0_o

Ever since I read that, I get really paranoid whenever I have to babysit outside of home.

It's only bad when the kid's parents won't let you put the kid in "time out" when the kid be bad.

To be honest, it's kinda fun once you get to know the baby and know how to take care of it. I have to baby sit every single baby (from my parent's friend) They are always calling my mom to see if im available to baby sit them. My mom accepts quite a few times but then later on they were like nahh... hahhaha i miss them. There are annoying and violent ones, but just be yourself..it will work out (:

My high school has a program tht teaches u on how to care of a baby (the annoying plastic doll ones).. And apparently in my junior/senior year i have a lot of classmates who took the programs.. At one time when one of the plastic baby was crying and the ppl who r taking care of couldn't make it stop so one of my classmates suggested to throw the baby at the wall to shut it up... Thinking back at least i know i could do better to take care of a baby instead of throwing it to the wall

I like taking care of babies so I never had any problems with them :)

Clean poop
Play with them
Feed them
Burp them
Put them in bed
play video games
baby wakes up
clean poop
play with them
parents arrives
get money
go home
play video games
sleep

Toddlers are different though...

Play with them
get scratched in the face
calm yourself down
feed them
get stains on your shirt
put them in bed
when they wake up, they'll look for their parents and you'll wait for 20-30 mins till they stop crying
play with them
get scratched again in the face
parents arrives
get money
go home
sleep
