At the end of this story the simple lesson is......
Make sure when you create a contest, its easy to understand, and..... above all else make certain that not only your contestants understand how it works, but that you understand how it works. XD |

Oh my. Seconded. Seriously, people need to grow up and get a life. Missing one concert is not something to complain over. I mean, there will be more. Besides, most of us didn't win anyway. Just accept it and move on. It's not the end of the world.

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I believe they mean they wont be performing anymore contests of that format so all current contests are most likely unaffected by this. Read some of the previous posts people the 1st post here is misleading users were not to blame for this 'problem' |

Have you guys even read the whole thread or previous threads about this? It wasn't about who won because it's been proven who won. It's about how CR is handling this topic and scapegoating on their participants.

Sooner or later they'll realize how dumb they were being for only reading the first page. Yay for reading! |

I'm hoping that someone smart at crunchyroll headquarters retracts or at the very least rewords this post as it is very misleading through either clever wording or just bad wording. A site like this shouldn't lash out at users unfairly unless they are looking to lose support -.-'. |

I can't blame them...you'd have to thumb through pages of this stuff to fully understand what's happened. More or less, I want to make sure every knows what has happened here. |

Well okay I admit I didn't read the previous news post's replies. I mean, not until after I replied here. Sorry for not getting the whole story.
I have a comment to make though, about Twitter... Some people have their profiles set to private - could that have possibly been the cause of confusion? I'm just putting it out there, because I'm personally curious. Anyway, it's not too much of a problem it I don't get an answer, so... Well, I do hope we have more contests in the future, but maybe with less competitive rules... And rules that don't interfere with school and/or work. I mean, it seems like many people (regardless of winners or losers) skipped out on important things in life, just for some free concert tickets. I mean, contests that induce actions like that just don't sit right with me... |

Do it through the power of imagination, no, quoting xP But in a non-annoying way
Pika - Yeah it happens. If I wasn't an insomniac I would've not known the entire story xP I think CR isn't really blaming the Utada one but their previous contests too. |

I mean, contests that induce actions like that just don't sit right with me... To be fair noone is all that worked up about the contest results anymore, as the site has tried to fix that issue. Its just this post is directing fire at users when the source of the problem lies with crunchyroll and twitter i.e. scapegoating, which isn't cool. You can argue they don't name names but it took me less than a minute to find the names of who they are blaming. In respect to the problem, its mentioned in the post of the user 'nexusmaylo' with the dugtrio avatar picture(page 3, second post) as a quote, it has to do with iphone apps and different forms of retwittering or something.... basically the contest was too confusing for its own good... |

I mean, contests that induce actions like that just don't sit right with me... Thanks for checking back Pika, it's hard to figure out what's going on with all these posts. Basically the problem was "retweetering" technology. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide To quote omket: That's too bad that this issue has popped up, more so that no ones made an official response yet. I'll try to clear up some misconception about re-tweeting. There are two types of RT's, the first version of retweeting was to make an actual tweet with "RT" the user and then their tweet. Due to the popularity of RT's, a few months ago Twitter officially launched an RT feature that allows you to click a "retweet" link without having to physically type out the message, thus making it easier to RT. @wonderlandvirus your app does not show it because it doesn't seem to support the feature yet. I use Tweetie and the original version of the app did not support the new RT feature, however, Tweetie 2 does. If you look at eimii's twitter page you can see that she used the RT feature and didn't tweet "RT" http://twitter.com/eimiiho Unfortunately this seems to be the mistake of the CR team who picked the winners for not properly understanding the features of Twitter and solely relying on people who tweeted RT, most likely because they used the search to find RT's or they have an out dated app. To demonstrate see: http://twitter.com/#search?q=nintendo%20admits and then check out my page http://twitter.com/tekmosis the search does not include the RT done by the feature. Hopefully the staff take note of my post to help prevent any future contest mishaps that involve Tweeting. basically read after http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-598925/utada-hikaru-concert-ticket-winners/?pg=9#29535964 |
