When it comes to dramas, I don't think so. PATIENCE is really needed.
There are many Brilliant Filipino Films. Try 'Magnifico'

Hmm..i personally don't watch Filipino dramas not because i think its lame to support Fil films but the trend now is the Fantasy genre and its getting old but we also keep a steady stream of love stories...
only thing I can say bout Fil dramas is that they're long, terribly frustrating since the networks drag story lines, predictable characters and plot...if you've seen other countries dramas and older Fil dramas you'd understand...the poor hero or heroine oppressed by some rich person who happens to make their life better through their owns kill and end up with the man/woman of their dreams...
But i think that Filipino series are definitely improving...so I guess Maging Sino Ka Man would e something I recommend or watch those short every weekeend series I think its tolerable...

- I agree!!! it is really long and the plot keeps on going circles. for romantic movies, i would recommend you got me and you are the one & got 2 believe..for dramas magnifico too is great! ang pagdadalaga ni maximo oliveros - haven't watched it yet but the film has achieved international awards. so maybe its worth to watch. for tv dramas, maging sino ka man, pangako sa'yo, kay tagal kang hinintay, bituing walang ningning, Bituin (w/ nora aunor and carol banawa), lobo sounds interesting too!

i think most filipino dramas are similar with Mexican dramas...if you've watched Filipino and Mexican dramas like i have, you'll know what i'm talking about...a bit the same in plot, storyline, and a looooonnngggg story...months and a year/s before it's finished..

u can't compare it with some Asian dramas...Filipino dramas are unique,in a way that it's very intense very dramatic..and mostly happy endings......but,sad to say, sometimes it's too long......

But i think they have that 3-6 month rule now when it comes to dramas...not unless it's in "demand" of course...at least ABS-CBN has that....

yup,Kay tagal kang hinitay is very good series...intense... walang Kapalit,Maging Sino Ka man....to name a few...

Filipino dramas don't have a definite number of episodes to begin with. Networks will continue to write new scripts to prolong these dramas (especially if there's an increase in audiences). This new stuff (including new characters that weren't there originally) makes the story more complex, more confusing, sometimes it wanders off the original story line. This is what irritates me most of all. I found crunchyroll so I can watch other Asian dramas - far superior, quality dramas as far as I know. I'm sure there's a lot of people who watch Filipino dramas. I have friends who really liked Pangako Sa 'Yo and Maging Sino Ka Man (164 30-min. episodes, see what I'm talking about?). I haven't watched every episode, but they're good, or so I heard. Ultimately, I say no to Filipino dramas.
