I spent some time using Search so I hope that I haven't posted a dupe. If I have then please point me to the correct thread. :)

Do license agreements determine if we get 720p or do we receive the same quality that the show is broadcast in? Or perhaps it's a combination of both? Japan seems like a country that would have everything broadcast in HD but we don't seem to have many anime (new and old) that's available in 720p. It would be great if we could get more in that format.

Speaking of, I don't suppose we could get 1080 at some point? Or is the bandwidth for that simply too expensive? Come to think of it, the time limit on the buffer could pose a problem for 1080 streams so maybe it's just not practical.

Is there a list on CR that shows all of the anime that's available in 720? I would definitely check those first.

The same questions could apply to dramas. It would be nice to see those in HD.

Thank you for your time.

1080p "streaming" is such a network hog that its not worth it. Crunchyroll is not Youtube with unlimited resources.

If you want 1080p just wait for the Blu-ray version.

And yes I like a list of 720p version of Anime titles too.

We only offer 720P videos if the show is produced in 720P and if we receive the video in that resolution. As far as I know, only Anime series created in the past few years haven been getting made in 720P (before that it was all 480P) and I think the only Anime that is available in 1080P would be feature films.

Not to mention Naruto isn't broadcasting in 720p, it's just unconverted. See http://www.dattebayo.com/pr/121.

And gratz CR, dattebayo continues to say you're about the only place to find Naruto. http://www.dattebayo.com/pr/128

[[second backup link for proof Naruto/Bleach aren't in HD native]] http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fgorry.haun.org%2Fpw%2F%3Fcmd%3Dread%26page%3D20090401_tvaformat%26word%3DBLEACH&sl=ja&tl=en

True 1080P isn't possible using streaming on today's network infrastructure. 1080i, yes. But then you're still just as good off watching 720p.
