The strongest?

umibozu of course...considering he's on the same level as hosen which gin couldn't have beaten without alot of factors and even kamui couldn't beat...he prob just doesn't show he's that strong, we didn't know kagura was that strong till one of the most badass eps in gintama... i'm sure umibozu is the strongest in that list =P

i'll vote for yagyuu kyuubei. for me she's the best. .

I assumed it was the king leukocyte, who has amazing dragon quest powers and is actually lvl 100 in dragonquest! His abilities include kamehameha parody and 100% crit, he can regen too! He is a knight/mage who can use insane spells and killed the boss with only one warrior in his party!

In terms of raw power, Umibouzu, Housen and Kamui are definitely on the top. I think right now, Kamui is the strongest in the Yato - considering his fight picking habit, I assume he is the type that grows quite stronger after each fight. Of course he was weaker than Umibouzu when he was younger but he said himself that he "surpassed him" now (because Umibouzu decided to build a family). Although Kamui seems to have struggled against Housen, I just think he was playing around. I mean, look at when Abuto and Ungyo got in the way of their fight; Abuto only lost an arm, whilst Ungyo got killed straight off. I wouldn't say that's a concrete piece of evidence, but it does make me wonder that Kamui could be stronger than Housen.

Gintoki on the other hand, is the type who grows stronger exponentially in the middle of a fight - very adaptable to fighting conditions. He's definitely strong, but personally, I don't think that means Gintoki's the strongest in the series - he's got perseverance greater than his opponents, which was why he was able win the fights against all those strong opponents like Housen, Jiraiya etc. That just comes to show that raw power isn't the only deciding factor in a battle, since people with too much confidence in their ability tend to underestimate their opponents.

I always wonder about Takasugi's strength. We haven't actually seen him fighting properly with anyone so I assume he's one of the strongest in the series...But up where on the list of the strongest he is, is a mystery for now.

Gintoki defeated Housen true, but if you think about it, he had 49 hyakka woman with kunai and the sun on his side. ! vs 1 he was beat in like 5 mins?With Kamui he could rival housen (well they never got serious or anything but i'm sure housen would have won)

Kamui does seem to be the kind that evolves rapidly but I doubt he is at hosen's level yet.

Umibozu is rival to housen and is still protecting the galaxy.

And though Kagura seems to be stronger than or strong as Gin in her yato form in the yoshiwara arc, Abuto still went easy on her as he stated at the end of the arc, I would think Abuto would be stronger than or as strong as gin and kagura.

Jirocho Also seems incredibly strong too though....He rivals Gintoki even though he's like what? over 50??
Jirocho young would probably be a three times (or more) kickass version of Gin

As for takasugi, I dunno, he seems to be at a kamui level.
He never fought or anything but I just got a feeling.

End Result:
Taka-Tin is the strongest and Elizabeth afterwards.

Kamui <3 Although eventually, Gin will have to beat him, and i guess Kagura will catch up.....The dad could never kill his son, so that leaves the rest up to Gin, so....:D

The Yato clan is naturally in the list, since they are born to fight and kill after all.

But, I haven't seen Takasugi's strength that much. So maybe...Oh, I dunno.
But I bet it's Gin-san till the end/

I am seeing alot of kamui, kagura and gintoki here lol.

Really don't see why, Kamui is on par or weaker than Hosen, The King of The Night as we can see on the Yoshiwara arc episode.

Gintoki got his but owned in 2 minutes of fighting the Night King, without 49 other ninjas and sunlight, they woulda been screwed.

With Kagura's case, her strength is simply being over rated from the scene where she went ape shit (an epic scene no doubt, don't get me wrong) but Abuto had no arm, and even stated at end of arc he was goin easy because he didn't like killing his own kind, kagura is still inexperienced too, at most she is weaker than or almost par with kamui but probably at gintoki's level or higher.

Takasugi- can't really say anything because he hasn't done any of the fighting yet.

Thus- Umibozu or Young Jirocho.
As Umibozu is goin around the galaxy protecting it, so probably didn't lose his touch and is on par with hosen. + is a cool, badass character (yeah I know its not related, just sayin).

"Uhhh...I have to take a dump" in the middle of a fight lol.

and Young Jirocho which I stated before is likely far stronger than he is now, I mean, he's around 70 and still on par with Gin, that kinda speaks for itself.
