As it goes, you will win, since no one seems interested... I guess they are copying their non-active mods

Happiness.

Twelve years. It has been twelve years since her beloved mother left her. Twelve years since her life had begun to fall apart, leaving her broken. Disease had stolen her mother away, and there wasn't a thing she could do about it, she felt helpless.

Her mothers' passing had taken something out of her life. Something called... Happiness.

She coudn't remember of a time when she was happy. The very word had long since faded into her memory and out of her life.

The thought made her mind ache, it gave her such a feeling of want that she began to hate this so called 'happiness'. She glared, envious of small children that walked by, children who smiled joyfully, children who were... Happy.

That word again. She groaned in frustration as her mind tried unsuccessfully to ban the horrid term from her mind.

How long she had been here, she did not know. All she knew was that the sun had set hours ago, and the cold winters night had set in. The park was such a dreary place in the winter, the plants dead and all signs of life had been flushed away with the warmth of summer.

Her cold, miserable eyes stared in front of her, not really focusing on anything specific, but more like examining her surroundings, peice by peice.

In the distance, she recognized the shadow of a stray cat, digging its claws into the side of a tree. She felt herself staring at the creature, and for a moment, she felt pity for the lost critter.

Lost, she thought, Yes, I am lost.

She didn't exactly know how she was lost, she just knew she was.

The chill in the air grew as all the warmth of day was sucked into oblivion by the merciless night. She clutched her jacket to her shivering form, whiping a strand of black hair from her face.

It was as if she was in her own little world, where she would watch the lives of others around her as a simple outside observer. It was as if she was... Looking for something.

Looking for what? She didn't know, but she felt as if she was searching for something in her life. Something to make her whole again. She felt like everyday was another search for this something, and everyday, more hopeless failure. She looked at the ground, burning holes in the snow with her angered glare.

"Lily," A calm voice sounded.

Lily turned to see her cousin, Sarah, standing next to her, smiling warmly. Sarah walked closer to her, holding out a helping hand. "Shall we go home?"

Lily took hold of her cousins' hand and allowed her to help her stand, "Yes," She said, nodding, "Let's go home."

Sarah smiled as the took walked slowly to the home they shared.

Lily looked forward, and her mind suddenly became clear.

Sarah held the thing she was looking for, she always had. She saw it when she smiled, she saw it when she laughed, she saw it when... when they hugged.

Happiness. Happiness is what Sarah had. Happiness is what Lily had been looking for, the thing that would make her life whole once again.

Taking Sarahs' hand in hers, she smiled as she realized she wouldn't have to look very far for this thing called happiness anymore.
