Well... Let's see, Sailor Moon started me off for the oldies, but it's not my favorite classic. I'd have to save that spot for either Samurai X or Hime-chan no Ribbon at the moment. InuYasha also fits in there somewhere, however it just sort of needs to... How shall I put this? End.

Hmm... How to tell if they are old or new... A good way to do that is by looking at whether they (anime creators) spent more time on the art or the story itself. If they spent more time on the story, then it's most likely an oldie. Art, however, would probably mean that it's a newer anime. And in my book, old animes are usually from the 80's or perhaps the first half of the 90's. But either way, I'm glad you joined the group!

Hmmn my favorite would be Sailor moon. Rurouni Kenshin seems also interesting but i haven't watched it yet 8)) Oy oy oy and Dragonball Z is one of my favorites too!!!! 8DD

Ow and i just love the art in the classics, it's much better than in the new ones! Of course it's not like that in every situation, but anyways 8DDD

hmmm... usually but it's not a rule. for example cowboy bebop could be seen as a classic but it's not that old.

This is true. Some of them don't have extremely bad animation. But then I don't find that any really do. It's just what style you like. Also, Cowboy Bebop defenitly has the potential to become a classic oldie in time. It is however a 'new classic' by my defenition.

agreed on cowboy bebop

*cough*

however,I think you'll find that there are a few classics with bad animation. I don't agree with DB being a classic (but that seems to be the general feeling in the forums) but if it is, it has really bad animation.

Just so people know were I stand - I don't think DB is ground breaking in any area. It takes a range of ideas from several other shows and has nothing new to add. the only thing that t has going for it is popularity (largely created through marketing). therefor I don't believe it to be a classic. but I may be wrong.

On my terms DB, DBZ , and whatever else is in that series, will never be valued as anything more then a fan-pleasing farce for the masses (especially in this group, unless challenged with a good theory). My view on Sailor Moon is slightly different due to the fact that, had it been left at a reasonable length, (say 30-50 episodes) it would have been fine. Besides that, it really was a revolutionary anime. I mean, it spawned so many of the magical-girl shojos and 'super powered transforming' shounens that it doesn't come near to being laughable. On that note, what in the world did DBZ DO besides melt brains? <<<Someone will write me a nasty note on this. I say: bring it.

Yes all. Your group owner is slightly prejudiced.

Hana Yori Dango and Candy Candy!! They can be watched over and over again! Sailor Moon was also good. Now it seems a little childish, but surely cute=)
