Good vocalist aren't good vocalist because of the country they're from.

well, no country is not necessarily better than anyone. But, American music started tons of genres that are popular in other countries, and as far as vocalists, America to me has stronger vocalists. Korean singers are really good too, the ones I've heard(they are really influenced by American music,as far as hip hop & r&b goes). Some Japanese singers annoy me with their singing COUGHayumi hamasakiCOUGH but i still love the music. I mainly listen to Japanese, Korean and American music though but I've listened to others.

vocal wise I think I will go with Japanese and then Korean, Chinese. I don't really think American music is all that good, as lyrical and vocal wise alot of it just plain sucks.

If I just think about a typical "Rock" band from Japan such as L`Arc-en-ciel or Nightmare, the lead vocalists have beautiful voices, especially hyde. Even if they are "rockers" they can sing beautifully, have range and do many ballad songs as well as compared to many American rock bands (although I like) they can't compare to asian bands.

That being said, alot of asian male sings can be thought of on the spot as good singers while, I don't think it can easily be said for American, and I think when people list American they are more thinking of female singers and I think if you are to be listed as top, you should have both.

Plus, as lot of people have been saying, the lyrics tend to be alot better especially compared to American hip-hop and rap.. as compared to many asian hip-hop and rap songs, usually they are not as degrading and bad lyrics wise.

Plus personally I feel that alot of Japanese song's lyrics are very poetic, rather it be jpop, jrock, etc.. I love the lyrics. As goes for many other asian artists as well.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with music other than American and Asian and can't comment on other countries.

Japanese music and don't forget American (my opinion) but... only some tho....depends on the singers mostly, its jus a stereotype 2 tink who sings better than others just because of where they came from.
