its basically an enlarged ipodtouch or iphone minus the usb port, flash support and card slot. All in all, if you have a lot of money go be fancy and be an ipad pioneer but if you think its a waste GOOD and just stick to buying a laptop or a mac which can serve you with more functions.
Unless Steve Jobs will decide to integrate mac and ipad then NO do not buy it.
However, i do highly doubt if apple will integrate the full functionality of a laptop and an ipad cos
1.) mac will go bankrupt if the ipad goes too advance
2.) maybe technology cant handle that yet
but i do see it coming in the future but as of now, stick to a laptop.
just in my opinion. I could be wrong

I'm typing this on my. iPad right now, and let me tell you... It's not an iPod touch and it's not an iPhone... It may work the same way, but the way you use it is completely different than the iPhone. I've had an iPhone since the first one came out and I use it for so many things. But the iPad makes it possible to do what im doing right now, which is make a long post on a forum :p

Though it's possible to do on the iPhone, it's almost impossible to do on such a tiny screen. The apps for iPad are something else too. They aren't just enlarged iPhone apps (unless you are running an iphone app). The ones made specifically for iPad are huge, easier to use, and just awesome.

Though right now im just using e iPhone CR app, its still usable, but being able to have CR in HD would be amazing.

You do know that the current iPad doesn't come with flash at all. The internet uses probably over a good amount of 50% of flash. Also you can't watch videos on other websites except youtube and u can't play flash games at all. By all means it's meant only for apple apps and youtube video streaming. Apple is trying to grab those people that are really dedicated and loyal base fans for a product that is pretty inferior and only wants to cash cow all those money. I'm going to wait until apple releases an iPad with flash+wifi+3g.

I haven't run into any issues so far. Maybe 50% of the stuff you do, but honestly i haven't noticed anything. Those sites that i was videos on have apps i can use, Crunchyroll and netflix being prime examples. Those sites serious about keeping up with technology are switching to HTML5, which will negate the need for flash. It makes sense for companies to do that, since they can code files themselves, as opposed to using adobe's priority software.

The iphone doesn't support flash, but does one hell of a job at what it does.

Honestly, i would love flash to die. It uses up processor power and crashes browsers.

No one had a problem with Flash before it was exploited by spammers, hackers, & the like. Same goes with Active X to an extent. There are good practices that can be followed, but ultimately only the user can decide what is good content, and what is bad content. What needs to change is the ease of use to train your computer what you want, and what you don’t. Simply discarding flash in the hopes that HTML 5 will fix all the problems is pretty short sighted, because spammers, hackers & the like will find ways to exploit that as well.

And besides, from what I’ve seen of HTML 5, it is certainly not a replacement for all the functionality that Flash supports. The workhorse audio & video content will be support, but Flash can do more. So while there are alternative ways to do in HTML 5 what Flash can do now, HTML 5 by itself will not be a complete replacement, you’ll need to use javascripting, php, etc.

no it isnt..the iphone does more...its just smaller..which is better cuz it fits in my pocket..lol

ipad would only be worth it if it wasnt so pointless...MAYBE when someone releases a good jailbroken OS for it..i MIGHT consider it.
