Hey guys I would like to know which MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) would you play cause I would like to know because I am going to go out and get one. Wondering which to get, either World of Warcraft or Guild Wars. Please give me your honest reply and solide good reasons on playing either game. And people please do a research on the games before you make any post. List all the good aspects such as the Advantages and Disadvantages of both games so decide on which game to start playing next summer do to the fact that I need a good gaming laptop to play it on and also the fact that I am swamped with alot of University assignments and test.

Also good you guys reccomend a good gaming laptop under $1500 that can run all the latest games please and thank you in advance.

If you're looking for a game that you'll play for years. Get World of Warcraft. If not get Guild Wars.

If your looking for something thats a good time killer , and wont charge you monthly , Guild Wars .

If your looking for something that will keep you coming back time and time again, no matter how many times you get ganked in Darkshire , Warcraft. Just be ready to dish out 15$ a month .

Im biased in this since i haven't played WoW yet, but i have GW. But i think GW is better cause you don't need to spend hours and hours to be good and fair with other players.. It's all about skills not levels or equipments. PLus it's free to play :D, and that's always a plus.

alot of people think that wow is better than gw because on gw you can only get to lvl 20, and they assume that's the end of the game. You can do pvp, get armor and help out other people. It's a really nice experience. I haven't personally played wow, but I play gw and it's pretty interesting. If you join the right guild and meet the right people, the game will go good for you. =] Also money is an issue. 50 bucks for the game, free online play, but you pay 15 bucks a month for wow, even if you only play it once for the monthly payment. -.-

wow>ff11 for a few reasons.
1. no japanese playing with you, and not TOO many koreans or chinese.
2. leveling is much easier, and way more fun, so alts are an option. you dont have to pay for more alts, either.
3. you dont HAVE to group to level. to instance, yes, you do. to get the best gear, you need raids. but its not imperative just to get to lv 60.
4. pvp is way better. its actually faction v faction in a real sense, not just fighting over control of lands.
5. the storyline is amazing. ive been playing warcraft since warcraft 2, and know the story of warcraft by heart (not counting the PnP storylines). ive read the books, the manga, played the games etc. im even quite a well known member on wowwiki, contributing a lot, and well known by 4 or 5 of the made moderators.
6. while there are fewer classes, there is a lot more option to be different (least, when i played ff11, 3 years ago almost).
7. instances. you will never get to the end of a dungeon, just to find that the monster youve wanted to kill is being farmed by a group of high-level japanese late at night (day to them and all), and by high-level americans in the day. instances make it so the dungeon is YOURS...and others have seperate dungeons, carbon copies. sure, the world-dungeons are camped now and then, but they are far less useful.
8. the burning crusade is coming out in about 2 months or so, and is going to be HUGE. 10 more levels, new planet, new talent specializations, new gear and items and spells and stuff. its going to change wow dramatically (and leveling 60-70 is about as hard as leveling in most other mmorpgs, so that will be fun)
9. they have quite a few fun events, some world events and stuff.

ff11>wow
1. the fact that you get a house is always fun!
2. there are a lot of jobs, and with sub-jobs, the combonations are insane. with the new ff11 expansion, i think there will be 15 jobs total. with all the combonations, thats absurd.
3. the summons are awesome. simple as that.
4. its final fantasy, so a lot of the stuff is common knowledge to a lot of players. way more ff players than people that played through all the levels of all the warcraft games.
5. it takes a LOT longer to level, so you wont get to endgame and get bored waiting to raid. sadly, the pvp kinda sucks, even endgame.
6. skill chains are crazy fun.

wow>ff11 in general, in nearly every way, i think, especially with the new wow expansion coming out. way more people play, too, so its rarely a problem finding a party. sure, there are a lot of immature fucks in the game, but thats why you play with your friends (RL, or guild buddies, or people you just know well in game) as often as possible.

I've played both WoW and GW, and i have to say that I found both of them very enjoyable. That being said I do believe that Guild Wars can get a bit repetitive after a while, though that's probably just me. WoW has kept me playing longer than GW mostly due to the fact that i find that there is more to do, and it feels more like a real "world" than GW... somehow...

And now, due to the mild "formality" of this post:

I have both games, I'll sell you my GW account cheap if you want to play that.

Oh yeah, what I think you should get... well if you want to play a more involved game then get WoW, but it costs a monthly fee. Get GW if you want to play a game for a while, get bored of it and eventually crave it again after not playing for a week.

Oh and PVP in WoW is horrible just to let you know.

i am a hardcore wow player(full enchanted geared mage, priest, warrior and hunter) got both games, WoW is more fun in the long run, but it cost ALOT compared to GW..since GW is free (duh). What i would do, is take the 10free days of wow. Play around with the different classes and see if its "your" game. Yes it cost money..YES it takes alot of times....but just like Manga, wow has become a hobby of mine. It is very addictive for some..others doesnt like the gameplay and stops after the trial.

try wow out (free 10days trail). Maby check the different gameplay vids out.

(i only play GW when wow is down wow is so bigger than GW but takes alot of time)

"Oh and PVP in WoW is horrible just to let you know." wow isnt just about pvp this is where wow peaks over GW...but again wow are also been called world of grindcraft
