We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I see it from a different perspective. The contest is mostly about LUCK. That's the only reason some got away with playing few episodes, but getting better results. You make it seem like there's cheating or favoritism going on. If the distribution is even, then what's the point of having a contest in the first place. And if your not very lucky, you can win by making the statistics go in your favor so that the probability of getting the badges distributed to you becomes more likely, and you can only do it by playing more episodes.

We do know what the statistics are. For example:
For week 1, assuming everybody starts at the week of the 2/4 episode, everybody has a 1 in 18 chance of getting a colored Choji badge and by the time the 2/11 episode airs everybody has a 1 in 30 chance of getting the same colored Choji badge. and just because you have a 1 in 18 chance, it doesn't mean that if you play 18 episodes, you are guaranteed to get the colored Choji badge. It just means that there's a 1 in 18 chance you'd get it. (Math geniuses out there, correct me if I'm wrong). This is why people who started late have the cards totally stacked against them because someone who just started collecting badges immediately after the 3/11 episode airs have a 1 in 58 chance of getting the same color Choji badge.



Here we can agree. I've posted on this before. Planning and implementation sucked. It seemed like the most minimal of effort went into planning the contest. As if the plan only consisted of, "Hey lets make a contest and have everybody collect badges and who ever collects all the badges we put out wins," without any consideration of (1) who will win and (2) how they'll win The contest ended 4/22 and it seemed like they didn't decide on how to pick the winners until Keikawa posted 4/28. Badges were either released early (Sasuke, Sakura) or late (color Kabuto). The first page of the "Win a FREE 1-YEAR MEMBERSHIP with Naruto" forum where we should be checking to see what badges will be released that week was not updated on time.

Hopefully, CR will be more mindful of their contests next time so that all these complaints will be lessened and people will enjoy more.

Actually my brother and I were watching episode 154 on separate computers at the same time when it came out and that is when we got the badges. Also we were given the premium membership... they basically just gave us a free month of membership instead of a year of free membership though...

So basically, your paid membership and 1 year membership prize overlapped each other and CR can't be flexible enough to adjust it so that you don't have to pay for subscription until April 2011?

Yeah basically, here is pictures that I took from my account status tab and premium membership history. I sent off a pm asking what they can do about this. Also they should either give me my money back or give me a extra year of membership till 2012, I know I sound sort of selfish right now, but I still think since I got top three that I should get the prize, not just a month. (Also take note in the second picture, it says "Expires on May 3rd, 2011" And you will see in the first pic I bought the membership in April 2010)

Since you haven't heard from them about this yet you may still have a chance. I don't think it's selfish at all. As a winner you were promised 1 full year free. They shouldn't double dip on you existing membership. Yet another example of poor implementation of this contest. Good luck with this one

Yes, 60 hours to gather all badges ... It took about 10 total.

"Aura" means nothing, at least to me. I come here to watch simulcasts, which are released minutes before rips are out (on a great quality player). But, not everyone collected the badges to win (I was one of them, even though i did win). I'm sure theres plenty of people who liked the extra week so that they could have collected them all, whether they could win or not.

Apparently I was one of the runners up. As I suspected though I was second to post that I finished all 80 badges, others had actually already beat me, alas. No big though, I had fun. Wish I'd had the night off of work, I may have actually been done sooner.
