Set in a land rooted in ancient Persian mythology, the Prince of Persia finds himself caught in an epic battle between the primal forces of light and darkness: the God of Light, Ormazd versus his brother Ahriman, the destructive God of Darkness. The Prince of Persia arrives just in time to witness the destruction of the legendary Tree of Life - an act which threatens to plunge the entire world into eternal darkness. Manifested in the form of the Corruption, a dark substance that physically contaminates the land and the skies, the Prince of Persia must partner with Elika, a deadly companion, to heal the world from the evil Corruption.

It's a fun little game

I think I've done and said enough about the Final Fantasy series in this forum so I thought I'd ask you guys on other RPGs you could recommend me. I'm not really the biggest gamer here and I've only gotten back into it since it's summer break and I just graduated (meaning, more time to play! ...other than work) so forgive my supermegafail limited title knowledge.

Hopefully you'll get an idea of what to recommend me after I list down my titles: Final Fantasy Series, Persona 3 & 4, Eternal Sonata.

Oh, and I've also been checking out the titles called Resonance of Fate and Tales of Vesperia and would like to hear your opinions about them. They look great in gameplay videos I've seen so far.

FYI: I only have a PS2, PSP and XBox 360 at the moment. As much as I want a PS3, I don't think I've have enough game titles in mind yet to make me buy one, unless you can magically change my mind. lol

Any recommendations for an action rpg (maybe if mmo and very open on environment and hopefully have controls like street fighter)?

If not, what good action rpgs are there for PC?

baka_karasu, I highly recommend Tales of Vesperia.

As much as i love P3 and P4, I recommend checking out the previous Shin Megami Tensei titles (They all have the Shin Megami Tensei prefix in their titles):

PS2
Nocturne
Digital Devil Saga
Digital Devil Saga 2
(Direct sequel)
Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army (If you like action RPGs)
Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon (If you like action RPGs)
Persona 3 FES (You didn't specify if you played vanilla P3, or FES )

PSP
Persona
Persona 3 Portable
(As of 2010.07.06)

As for reasons to get a PS3...:
- It is not region-locked (so you can play Japanese games and/or demos)
- Gamesharing
- FREE online (unlike 360)
- Heavy Rain
- Demon's Souls

There are more, but those are my main reasons

>w< Ahh, sou ka. Thank you very much for your suggestions. I might get ToV this weekend then. I saw and read reviews on Resonance of Fate as well and unfortunately, I have been leaning towards not getting it. lol.

More SMT titles for the win! Haha. I'll go check out some gameplay videos of those. Oh, and I also played P3 FES. Never heard of the entire SMT series when P3 came out (saved me from the issue of getting frustrated and saying "A newer version!?"). I'm also getting the latest version when it comes out. Too bad the anime cutscenes won't be included though.

And thanks as well for trying to convince me to get a PS3! You also forgot to mention the fact that it can also play Blu-Ray discs that are obviously more HD than DVDs. Hehe.. 8D

I had a lot of fun with Crimson Gem Saga for the PSP. It's a standard, but fun RPG. Also Jean D'Arc and Final Fatasy Tactics: War of the Lions are some of the best games the PSP has to offer. The Suikoden series with the exception of IV is pretty good. The first two might be hard to find, but they should both make it to PSN at some point. The intro to 3 is one of the best videogame intros ever.

Made my day to see someone say that. :)

Ico + it's spiritual successor, Shadow of the Colossus are AMAZING games. If you get bored quickly, do not play, but if you wanna take in all environment & story traits it offers, go at it. Same goes for Okami. It has a corny storyline, in my opinion, but makes up for it with gameplay. I'd say get both since they complement each other. :P

For anyone who has a PSP & just needs something to keep their brain occupied without all the goddamnspecific stuff, i'd recommend "Patapon" & Loco Roco"

Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 (PS2) - I think it's very under-rated. It has a very good story line and the battles were quite good. I enjoyed 2 the most!

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (DS) - Was awesome, didn't get to finish it though =(

The three Xenosaga games, I liked them a lot and have played them multiple times.
I prefer them over the Final Fantasy games on PS2.

Speaking of PS2 really recommend Godhand, its a top-notch action game with a great sense of humor.

I will recommend a game for every console:

X360: Read Dead Redemption, Dead space, or Tales of Vesperia

PS3: Demon's souls, Heavy Rain, or Final Fantasy XIII

Wii: Any Trauma Center, Mad World, and Resident Evil 4

PS2: Any of the Shin Megami Tensei Games or Shadow of the Colossus. Devil May Cry is also good.
[EDIT: Valkyrie Profile 2]

PS1: Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantays VII, or any Final Fantasy.

PSP: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite or [Valkyrie Profile Leneth - really rare and expensive]

DS: Peggle, Pokemon for nostalgia, or Professor Laytons. I also liked Hotel Dusk.
[EDIT: The world ends with you is amazing]

So many games to choose from!
