If you have't already I'd strongly recommend the Mario RPGs. You can start anywhere since they're all their own self contained story. My favorite is The Thousand-Year Door. If western style RPGs are more your cup of tea then I find the old D&D universe games to be very interesting and they can run on any modern computer. This includes games like Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights. My favorite is Planescape. If you don't mind your games being kinda brutal then Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are quite unlike any other RPG out there.

anyone know of any MMO games where you use xp to upgrade you skills and stuff (kind of like how final fantasy games were)> I started watching Sword Art Online and it made me wanna play an MMO thats not WoW. That show just looks like it would make for a great game IRL

I'll definitely recommend

"Dead Space"

But beware, if you are not into HORROR games, then don't try this alone or at all.

^ I agree, it is a really good game.
Also, Dead Island, Killing Floor and L4D, if you're into horror.
They are amazing especially if you decide to co-op with friends!

I'm loving this game, Wine & Roses. You are the skeletal Lord Francisco, and with your team of Roses (your lovely maiden henchwomen) clear your large castle of its various invaders. It's strange in the way as the story doesn't progress like a normal rpg. You get snippets of whats going on/whats happened through Francisco's battle texts or when you find a new spell/item for one of the Roses. It's kind of like a Metroidvania in the fact you need some spells to progress, back track to get some to help progress etc. It's over all a lovely game.

I have to recommend the Metal Gear line of games and the various niche RPGs out there.

Metal Gear Solid, more specifically, with my personnel favorite being 3: Snake Eater. Never before did I think stealth games could be so fun!

And niche RPGs like Grandia and Hyperdimension Neptunia. Diamonds in the ruff like those.

Hello! can you give me some advice about some mmo rpg? I was searching something like this:

1) Unique combat system (like Skyrim or Tera)
2) Free to play
3) No items for real money (fair and square)

I already played these:
WoW, L2, Shaiya, Tera, Aion, D&D, Diablo, GW, Ragnarok.
