Just purchased an all-episodes on one disc DVD through Ebay. This is sold by a Thailand merchant for about $18 with no shipping charge. It has English subs. I've purchased one other DVD from this merchant recently and it arrived in about 2 weeks. Japanese DVDs are available in a mutipile disc format at massively higher prices and without subs.

Those are usually fan-subs sold w/ out the permission of of the studios & many times the subgroups that did them. Sadly the creators didn't see a cent from the sale. I have been tempted to pick them up the same way since it is maddening how long it takes for us to get them in the US if we see them at all & the price gouging. I was looking at FLCL the other day $30 a DVD each DVD had 2 eps on it.

I've herd the quality can very allot many times the subs run off the screen & you can tell it was recored off the TV broadcast because all the usual nuisances that TV stations do logos news scrolling et cetera.

Crunchyroll and Nozomi should work together a deal to bring out a DVD release of both Sasameko Koto and Aoi Hana. If Japanese production committees see that CR streams are able to get DVD releases, even if they are royalty-only licenses, they will be more eager to put their shows on Crunchyroll.
