Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili died Friday during a training run. On his second run, he crashed and was killed. He was going around 90mph when he was thrown off the track and hit a metal pole.

That is a video of it. It is kind of gruesome, so if you don't want to see a man die, I guess you shouldn't watch it.

All the information cited above is from Tsn.com.

Thought I'd make this thread just to let you know.

Well, apparently he was still alive when they went to him, but died a few minutes afterward. I still think he died on impact. The way he flew into the pole, it looked like he might have broken his neck or back. But yes, they have been airing this on T.V. It's big news, its rare for someone to die at the olympics. I believe he was the 4th person. I'm not 100% sure though. Last time someone died in a luge event was in 1964 (I think).

The video is everywhere....and people are actually laughing at it SICK!!!

Think of his family!

They have to watch him die 20 times over because its being aired everywhere...and it doesn't help if they happen to see truly retarded people posting nasty comments. The world has gone to shit.

Canada's got some pretty bad luck... No snow... crappy weather and then a death the morning of the Olympics.... R.I.P Norad Kumaritashvili. And apparently another athlete had said that it was his a human error cuz he had turned into the bend too late and got out of it too early, but the officials said that there were problems with the track as they had been tight on time to finish the course in preparations for the first day (today) of the olympic games
