Big news from ANN:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-02-16/so-ra-no-wo-to-bd/dvd-no.4-no.7-to-add-unaired-episodes The official website of the So-Ra-No-Wo-To anime series has announced on Tuesday that production on limited episodes for the Blu-ray/DVD releases has been green-lit. The unaired episodes will be included in the fourth and seventh Blu-ray/DVD volumes on June 23 and September 22, respectively. (The first volume, which ships on March 24, is pictured at right.) I have mixed feelings. I like the sound of that, because it means that back in Japan So ra no wo to is successful. Successful is good. I don't like it because unless Crunchyroll can make it happen, I'll have to look into importing Blue-Rays... |

On the specials. It seems that it'll be about a slice-of-life episode involving Filicia's old unit, the 1147th.
Quote from the magazine scan about it: "I don't like this! But everyone's supposed the same! But everyone's supposed to be together!" And hasty translation about the girls of the 1147th from the soranowoto blog: Yukiko-san: Considerably skilled in judo, kendo, and tea ceremony. Ranked third in some kind of soldier waifu contest for two years. (TL note: "soldier" is written in kana such that it can be misread as "corpse." That's mean...) Olga-san: Dark skinned, honorable young lady who cut her hair upon entering the army. Joined without her parents' knowledge. Likes to shower. Anna-san: Admired by the Helvetia Crying Beauty Mole Association (not actually an association, but a fan club). She puts up with it, but it must be annoying. Martina-san: Played a sport similar to tennis. Though she hurt her elbow and retired, Anna's classmates don't know anything about it. |

Yeah, I don't foresee the DVD/BD-only episodes airing on CrunchyRoll.
However, if the show is licensed by Funimation or Sentai (or, who knows, NIS America) for R1, they'll be included there. And I already really want to buy Soranowoto on R1 DVD, so that just makes me look forward to it even more. |

For what its worth, I'm seriously planning on buying the blu-rays for this series the minute they become available in the states. It's rare that I want to think about collecting a series this badly, but I think this is one of those times. And if one of the eps really is about Felicia's old squad, then oh yes, oh HELL YES!!!!
