Alexander Skopintsev should've used the defense: "Those darn critters who been sneaking in my farm, can get awfully big... like come on did u see the size of tht raccoon, i gotta use landmines or i don't stand a chance to protect my farm" lol... it's sad, if the theives never try stealing his farm then they wouldn't get 2 see the landmines in action.. it's like a robber suing u for getting injured while trying to rob ur house ... it's private property ur trespassing, we use shotguns 2 defend our property and we can't use landmines? we'll it's in Russia so idk

I don't see much of a problem with this. The guy was just protecting his livelyhood.

My point exactly, why does it matter how we kill those who trespass either by shotgun or landmine. I can understand if its some slow painful death but both well under normal circumstances you die.

I think blowing someone up for stealing potatoes is going a bit overboard. I know how frustrating it can be to stop thieves but killing or permanently maiming someone for thievery isn't really my style.

What's next? Phosporus grenades against some teenage hoodlums who piss against your house? Claymores againts kids who prank calls your door?

Seriously, anyone here who's defending the farmer need a lesson in criminal justice and punishments...You do know that they have courts which pass sentences down on criminals, and self imposed vigilante only leads to chaos.

The lifeblood of a farmer is thier crops. They sweat and bleed for their crops. Some crops only come to fruiton once a year depending on what you grow and it also depends on the season as well. When your only source of food and income is being stolen from you, I believe you should have every right to defend it. Believe me, a landmine is not the worst thing that some farmers will do to protect what is thiers.

I dont see the problem here. Unless im mistaken, he's legally allowed to defend his property, whether that be with his bare fists or mines, i dont see the difference.
