Chimpanzees and humans are 98% Identical. Wile Bonobos are 99% identical to us. http://www.paulagordon.com/shows/savage-rumbaugh/
On top of that we have other evidence that shows the same the same thing. We even have "Ardi" Humanity's Oldest Ancestor! Or Ida the link between Monkeys, Lemurs, and Humanoids such as the Homo Sapiens and the Neanderthals.

But then In the ED, I already did a huge mile long report about evolution and how it has more observable evidence for it than even Gravity.

Humans are classified by all scientist in the APE family So Apes are Apes is right, but so is humans are apes because we are what we are, we is what we is.

On another note.

They look pretty damn Human to me.

There was monkey/lemur looking critter in the past... That is where all the monkeys, Lemurs, Apes including Human originated from.

And if you really wanted to we can even go further back to what critters that came from, to what critters that came from. Al the way back to what are ancestors in the ocean looked like.

Thank you. It's worth to study about if someone is willing to track everything back.

well i believe we do, but i am bothered by some people who hate me for praising Darwin's theory of evolution
(religious reasons). Most of my teachers too, highly ignore this theory. According to them, apes are animals, and we, humans, are not animals. Biblically, we are the image of God's likeness, and it is despicable to say we came from the inferior beings called apes. I dont really want to debate bout religion..though it highly touches the issue. :vicx:

I don't get how humans could be created in God's image. Surely God wouldn't have a physical form, and certainly not one that is designed/adapted to a world He created? Some people take the Bible far too literally.

Personally, I think there is enough evidence that humans and apes share common ancestors. In fact, I seem to recall reading an article a few years ago suggesting that visitors from another world might even see humans and chimps as subspecies, rather than distinct species in their own rights, we're so closely related (can't remember where I read that though.)

humans may have descended from apes.that...is a fact that we only speculate and can not really prove.if we only seek to know where and from what we came from, then we may be asking these questions :

what do we come from? (most likely apes)
if we come from apes, where do apes come from?
if (the origin of apes) evolved into apes, where did it come from?

until we come to this : where did the universe come from?

some people will say god created the universe. then let me ask you: who created god?

And on topic, I think that you would have to ignore a gigantic amount of evidence to believe that humans and apes are not descendants of a common ancestor. For example, the genome of chimpanzees and humans is well above 95% similar, among many other instances of evidence.

i think it's around 98%.. but like i've said earlier it doesn't really matter. i don't mind having an ape for an ancestor or distant relative.
heck i'm even entertaining the idea of space aliens conducting genetic experiments on early apes. and those early apes became humans and the aliens became their "gods". (totally baseless but entertaining nonetheless)

Just saying, especially cause it pisses me off when religious nuts start claiming that evolution is not a valid theory, and when you ask for proof they start quoting the Bible.

dont go grouping us all as nutz

If you're talking about grouping religious people together, I am not, especially because I'm Catholic. I was talking about the crazy ones who can't accept anyone having a different opinion than them and think that if you don't believe the exact same thing as them, you are some soulless, depraved monster.

Well if god made us in his own image, that just makes him Vein :O some god 'ey O.o

Plus to those deeply religious people, you could say that god made, apes first but desided e didn't like all the hair, so he made humans too :O thus we were made by god AND have links to the apes see, not so bad is it ;p
