None, and another should ask instead of this one, which is "How do we stop the budget in school?".

Well. The cutting of the teachers and classes is contributing to getting out of the financial hole and alowing the schools to once again recieve decent funding.

no offense the cutting class is not doing good to students, because college students are trying to graduate, but they can't if they could not get their classes.

I am not in college. I am in high school. But I agree in a way. The students will have less oportunity, if the classes are cut. There should be classes pertaining to every career path.

...............Are you kidding me?

Woodshop, I suppose. I'm sure people can learn how to hammer a piece of wood on their own.

Stop hatin' on math guys, math didn't do nothing to you... it just wanted to help out is all...

A lot of elective courses should be cut first if it has to be done, math/science, english, and social studies should remain as intact as possible, although I feel like the core english courses are just a repetitive waste of time which doesn't change too much for having to be required to take it every year of your academic career >.> and history I could see going too but I suppose it sort of helps a bit when we look back on it and see that it'd be a bad fucking idea to do this or that, b/c yeah, sometimes we actually learn from our mistakes instead of repeating 'em (One thing for sure in my mind, we need to learn to calm the fuck down so we don't fuck ourselves over in times of crisis)

Over here they removed exams for religion and social studies already for students who are about 10-11 years old (primary school going to secondary school). Math shall be removed next because it really causes so much exam failures.

*Put's on teacher hat* Yes I'm actually a teacher.

I really like that courses specifically made to prepare someone for college should be cut. I'm not talking about AP classes which are actual college classes, but the ones that prepare you to take them. Not everyone needs to go to college. The sooner we figure this out and bring back trade classes the better we will be.

I also have to say that the last thing that should get cut is music simply, because well I'm a musician. Other then that they've done so many studies proving that it helps improve cognition that you would be stupid to cut it. How many really stupid kids do you know that are in band. I'm not talking about kids who are smart with no common sense either.

Factoid: Music is one of the only activities which uses both sides of your brain. In fact it actually strengthens the connective tissues between both hemispheres.

The other thing that ticks me off is standardized testing. Teachers have had the creativity sucked out of their profession, because they are now being forced to teach to a test. They also have to teach how to take a test. My big problem is that there are lots of kids who suck at taking standardized tests. Plenty of those kids who are bad at them aren't unintelligent either they just aren't good at taking tests. We need to find a better way to get results on how well students are learning. Testing just isn't the way. Plus they lose a lot of money on it.

Sorry kiddies. I hate to break this to you Math, Science, Geography and English will NEVER go away so get over it. They are core curriculum.

So your from Texas? Do you mean the TAKS?

If you do know, then it is a waste. Because all the talking about it stresses us (the students) out. And since they changed the expectations for 8th graders, it's really worrying people who are bad at the subjects needed to pass.

Math. Face it, you won't need those advanced calculations, algorithms, radicals etc. if you just want a normal job and not a rocket scientist or sumthing

either way i will never take one of those tests in my life again.

btw the test was a joke i slept through it and hurried on it to answer..always scored well

pff public high school and under in america is a complete joke compared to the rest of the world

college and univ is coo.

i think it was george carlin that said if "you take someone aside and ask them how to improve the education system in the us theyll say to pump more money in" roughly roughly paraphrased very roughly
