two of my flash cards seem to show a 'silent' hiragana.

1- rippa (wonderful, great) リっぱ
the middle hiragana character is っ which i believe is 'tsu', so what is it doing in the middle of 'rippa' like dat?

2- zasshi (magazine) ざっし
same question about っ 'tsu' what is it doin in the middle of zasshi?

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/27929719/How-to-teach-Kana

i was trying for 2 to 3 weeks to get these word and failing;
ohio - hi
tanoshii - are you having fun?
yokata - thank goodness
dou itashimashite - you are welcome

as single words, they would not work.
i wrote them over and over.
i recited them from flash cards.
they would not stick.

so i made them into a skit, a conversation, like this, and put it all on one flash card (written very small);
ohio (hi).
tanoshii ka? (are you having fun?).
hai (yes).
yokata (thank goodness).
arigato (thank you).
dou itashimashite (you are welcome).

i was able to read it back from the front, and remember my way through without looking, after about the 2nd or 3rd try.
my mind remembered it a lot more clearly, all put together into a meaningful series of remarks.
U kno, dat's kinda mind-boggling. O-o

here another groupo of word that stick in memory bettah than each alone;
ko-re su-ki (i like this).
shi-ta-i (i want to try it).
de-mo (but),
wa-ta-shi-wa (i)
tsu-ka-re-ta (tired)
de-su (am).
de-ki-ta! (i did it!)

haha, kool, btw ohio is really ohayo, and tanoshii ka should be changed to tanoshiidesuka, yokata should be yokatta, but yeah, making conversation with words is a really good way to memorize words, another way is if you write it down over and over as you say it

Hey I was wandering if there is a website I can learn how to speak in romanji if you can suggest one or a few? I have some friends here on CR can speak it and I think it would be nice if I could speak to them in romanji. XD

Also I have a suggestion. Can you add info's to the Japanese fashion for Visual kei and oshare kei?

toshi-chan!!
i'm bit lost on your first question?!! i think it's more just a matter of learning jpn words.
for example, check out da "japanese word you would like to share" topic!!

all those words spelled out in english, that's romaji!!
ex. "arigatou" .. <--- that's romaji!! which of course means "thank you".
now if it's japanese font you're talkin bout...... ex. ありがとう <--- arigatou

here's link that'll help set u up!!
http://www.coscom.co.jp/help3/jpfont/jpfont.html

regarding the visual kei (& oshare kei).
when i initially did the jpn fashion....i was a bit on da fence on whether 2 include or not.
but since mochi-bear-chan has mentioned it also (jrock)..... i'll b sure 2 include!!
give me lil time k!!

i wasn't familiar at all with oshare kei!! but did a quick skim...sounds like a fun bunch!!
haha kee kees!!
