How can increasingly popular girl fights be stopped?

I don't think girls are fond of the old idea of being housewives when they grow up. We're living in the 21st century. Also thats the typical scenario mindset of traditional roles played back as early as the 16th century.

I dont want my tax $ to pay millions to a person because some other girl got her feelings hurt.

Can you please explain to me how peoples tax dollars get payed to someone that gets there feelings hurt? The only way I see that happening is if the school district gets sued for not doing what it was supposed to do. That is why they go and gave disciplinary hearings with people recording stuff and the school districts attorney present and the whole shebang (at least that is what they do where I live). Any civil suit reparations are paid be the guilty party, no money will be used from the tax payers. Trying to break up a fight as a citizen is something I suggest you try not doing at school, because that is what the school resource officer and campus security is for. I suggest if you see a fight get the resource officer or campus security to stop the fight. As for stopping fights as this topic states, I believe it starts at home. How we act in society is directly correlated to what we learn as appropriate behavior at home. If being physically violent at home to solve problems is a norm, then the child will learn that it is ok to always resolve your problems with fighting. Parents need to start being parents again and realize that school is a place to go and learn and it is NOT a place to send your child to be reared and told what is supposed to be common sense.

Yeah, that was terrible, they should have held the girl back at least. I say making food in the kitchen is way better.

You do realize that your second comment was extremely sexist and offensive right?

I think that it's very unladylike for girls to fight, but the only way they're going to learn to act like ladies is if they're treated with deference and respect -- by guys. That means opening the door, offering your seat, standing when she enters the room, etc. in case you guys need some ideas.

The implications of saying that a woman needs to know her place is so third world. Sure, we women are better at tending and nurturing at home but that does not define us, and it should not limit us.

Shoot, I'm not even a femmenist but that made me friggin' mad!

All I'm saying is that if they were doing what they are supposed to be doing, they won't be fighting. And by the way, Chivalry is dead.

Um, NO, chivalry is not dead -- it's just not politically correct at the moment. Gentlemen still exist, I'm married to one.

And what are they supposed to be doing? not going to school? learning to cook and clean at home? not developing their mind? -- Once again, let me state that that is a third world mentality that is not constructive within modern society.

The ideas you are expressing are so oxymoronic. You want women to become docile while stating that chivalry is dead. Hello! If you want a woman to be docile you need to give her an exceptionally good motivation to be that way. You are saying that men are not to be considerate or thoughtful of women (the definition of chivalry) -- then how can you expect a woman to feel secure enough to be anything other than hostile? Women are not stupid or irrational.

Both sexes have to take responsibility and "know their place." Men should be kind, considerate, and defenders of the weak; and women should be gentle, supportive, and encouraging. Don't expect women to "know their place" as you state it if men do not know theirs. And yes, as the more dominant, it is the man's responsibility to take the initiative and act like a gentleman.

You sound angry. Is it your time of the month? Or do you always act this way?

No, it is not. I'm not angry, I'm annoyed. People who speak without thinking or don't take things seriously perturb me.

Mockery and condenscension are the tools of a weak wit. We'll continue this conversation when you've learned to respect others as you want to be respected yourself.

Why am I arguing with somebody half my age?

No, my small minded friend, I do not. My gentlemanly husband is taking me out to eat for supper on our weekly date.

You don't deserve to live in Canada if you cannot embrace the ideas (such as following the Golden Rule, women's rights, etc) that are integral parts of its culture. If you want a barefoot, pregnant woman who stays in the kitchen, is terrified of physical retribution, and does not express her opinion then you should move to the Sudan, or Iraq, or Iran, or Afghanistan, or Malaysia, or some other third world country that treats women like animals and possessions.

Pathetic is the child who thinks that with his smart ass comments he can get the better of someone who has forgotten more things than he has yet learned. Let your brain catch up with your mouth at least before you continue.

Someone who is not willing to have a mutually beneficial conversation is so NOT worth my time. Have fun talking to yourself.

Personally the only way i see to stop it, not that i recommend this, would be to seperate the female population in schools from the male... Most of the fights are to show off to the other. Another reason is jealousy, Female A likes Female B's boyfriend, Female B gets jealous and starts rumors over Female A (or vice versa), Female A (or B ) resorts to violence.

Not saying that it would stop ALL fights but I bet it would slim down the number immensely.

No it wouldn't :O at least not by much... I used to go to an all boys school and it didn't really seem to make much difference haha. Quite fun to watch but best to stay well clear, if they wanna fight , let 'em. It's sometimes good entertainment =)

That's fine. The mods will delete all my posts on this thread. Possibly hand me another ban, or delete this account.
