Well the first episode of this new anime called Working!! came out today and I must say, I think it has the same chance as Baka Test to become the number 1 comedy show out this year (so far). The main character guy is a lolicon so right off the bat we know this is going to be interesting. He sounds so familar in so many other animes but I cant really remember, but Im gona say he is the same voice actor as Tschida-sensei from Hanamaru Kindergarten. Also the female lead character is voiced by the same person who does Yuno-sans voice from Hidamari Sketch I believe. Heck they even have Koziumi's voice actor from Haruhi in there too. But enough about voice actors, all the characters who work in the store are unique in their own way, and all extremely funny. The assistant manager has officially become the most badass women in a slice of life anime so far this year. I also think this show is unique...the whole story based around a cafe....you already know that there could be endless episodes from that setting alone. Would love to talk about all the characters but I think its time for yall to watch this anime.

Give your thoughts! Just how much potential does this anime have? Ill leave them to yall

Wait what do you mean the main character is a lolicon. He talks for a while that he is not a "lolicon" (although I doubt many people cares whether he's a lolicon or not). He calls himself a person who likes anything small, from childrens to puppies, to cats, and his favorite water flees. He likes small things because he likes things that seem helpless and cant survive without others help, and if you want to call him by something he wants to be called a "minicon". (read the sub or listen carefully if you care)

I think its good, not great (so far). The characters seems a bit interesting. This is the first comedy anime I'v seen this year so I can't judge if this can be the best of the year. I'll keep watching it unless I get board of it. I personally don't watch much comedy anime so I wonder how long this will last.

Yea i read it too, and I know he said that, but he really is a lolicon, there is no such thing as a minicon (as used in the way he does), but yes he does like small things but regardless you can still label him as a lolicon. But I like this fact that hes a lolicon because it spices up the personality rating. But yea if you havent seen Baka Test you should go do that.

You're right about most of the voice actors in the show except the main character is voiced by Fukuyama Jun, not the same one for Tsuchida in Hanamaru Kindergarten.

I watched the first episode last night and didn't think it was all that good. It's funny at times and gives you a few laughs but that's it. I wouldn't compare it to Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, which is 22 minutes of LOL, ROFL, LMAO each episode. But I have heard the manga Working!! is very funny so I guess I'll see how the second episode will change my mind, but it won't come out til next month.

First, I'm not a big fan of Loli, and the character design of the heroine, Poplar, doesn't appeal to me at all. She looks like some anime character from a decade ago. Not to mention she acts kinda like Yui from K-On. Sorry, but I just don't find Tennen Boke all that charming.

The main male character, Takanashi, is a Lolicon that wears glasses who doesn't seem to be anything more than that. @sjp30: his refusing to admit being a Lolicon even though he is a textbook example of a Lolicon is kinda like a running gag in this anime.

Now that leaves the other 3 main female characters who are, in their own rights, much more interesting and likable than Poplar, imo:

Kyoko, the violent and blunt restaurant manager, who gave Takanashi a crazy full work schedule with no day off for a whole week, because he commented insensitively on her age, but is considerate towards her employees nonetheless.
Yachiyo, who looks like a very nice person but carries a katana with her at all times, which scares some people around her.
Mahiru, the other waitress who has androphobia and thus beats the crap outta any guy who comes near her, in this case, Takanashi.

And there are these two other male characters: Sato, the blond chef who looks a little scary, according to Takanashi. Soma, the blue-haired chef, who looks younger and is more easygoing. Even they look more interesting than Takanashi...

There seems to be more characters that have yet to be introduced. Despite my dull experience with the first episode, I'll give this series another chance just because of the raving comments from other viewers.

FIrst off, I want to thank you for correcting my mistake, I just remember that voice from so many animes, and now I remember which one it was from, was Watanuki from xxxHolic. And yes Baka Test at the moment is non stop funny. I guess I kinda jumped the gun on this, but I still see some potential. I know this wont be a fast paced anime like Baka Test and therefore won't have as many funny parts, but I think do to this being a story revolved in a Cafe, there could be limitless potential and ideas for this anime. Now of course Baka Test can probably too, but in any case, I believe these two animes will be the top comedies so far this year (of course its still early so that doesn't hold much merit). This seems to be a more of a medium paced comedy but I still think they will cash in.

Since this is the first episode, anything that I say that praises this anime could backfire at anytime, but I'll be watching this show with high expectations that I think they will match. But yea I'm kinda happy to see such a thorough commenter ^.^
But yea I'm anticipating the next episode!

Well while I was looking at other anime sites...trying to find episode 2....I came across this comment
"Uhm, I’m not 100% positive, but this show is not supposed to start airing until the Spring line up, to be specific in April. The first episode, I think, was only what is called a “pre-release” showing.
Yeah, I just looked it up and everywhere that has an air date listed for this anime says its not airing till April. At countdown.mandragon.info, whicht has a timer countdown for all anime episodes it says the next episode for this isn’t coming out for 27d 10:39:50 (Yes, it even counts down the seconds too LOL) So I don’t think we’ll be seeing the next ep for like a month.
I wish I had better news and I also wish that I’m wrong, cuz I EALLY like this so far, but it doesn’t look that way. :’("

So apparently the first episode was a pre release episode and we have to wait till April to see the next episodes. Sucks but yea.
Source is from
http://www.gogoanime.com/working-2-working-episode-2

Even Animeph.com had it listed as in April so I think this comment is valid. Oh well,,,hopefully the wait isnt too long

If you like seeing a guy get the tar beat outta him then you'll love ep. 2!

Yeah, it's blurry from the fast paced action. It's the best sucker punch in the second ep in my opinion.
