Post Reply Saving the chat

World domination.

No seriously, it's hard to save the chat because as far as I'm informed some admin was rather eager about the destruction of CR chat. And seeing as nobody of the admins ever particularly cared to improve the chat over the years I guess that it didn't take much to convince the rest of the admins to just nuke it altogether..the whole situation became clear to me when they started their first attempts at slowly hiding the chat from the public eye -- this is akin to the typical strategy "Out of sight, out of mind".
I find it bothersome, no, I find it pestiferous that the admins haven't yet posted an official statement(announcement thread) with a clear, and direct message to the community about the chat's situation, no, instead of that, they are handling it in a secretive and unforthcoming manner. Otherwise when they add new features or introduce impacting changes for the website and its community they always announce it sooner or later. But hey, this just shows how grim our chances are at saving the chat.

Generally, I always thought that it really isn't that great that the chat has been neglected this much over the years, but culling it completely without offering an alternative? What the f-ck?

Other than that I presume the only thing we can do is post eloquent responses in the public thread concerning this matter, informing as many people as possible about the current ongoings, and maybe even convince a few to join the chat from time to time through a little advertisement to increase the numbers of chat visitors.

No one would obey a rule like that. Plus the concern is getting more people to join, not getting the regulars to stay more.

umm..if they decreased the number of chatrooms..wont tht help them mange the whole thing?
like if there was like 3 main rooms..n they removed the"channel"button if possible..it might become easier for them to keep the chat..n every1 will be satisfied this way..
i certainly dont know what im talking about..but i thought i'd give it a shot..

I'm the same age as you and you can't read this?

Anyways..

Shroomie I do agree with you its despicable on how the admins secretly want to remove chat without even giving a full accusation on why its closing. I think though if their was a public statement with the chat in the site news section, there would be a cr uproar causing people to leave. I think that Shinji or who ever the admins are planning is that they don't want to lose more cr members as it is, Because they lost a significant amount of people when Cr went legal......Well all we can do as a cr member is that hope chat would stay and not leave.
