Crunchyroll iOS App is now Universal!
Please post questions about the new app here:http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-675806/crunchyroll-ios-app Since the app is universal I don't think this thread and the iPhone app thread need to coexist. |

I think the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad will be using the same application which is free to download/use and currently locked to WiFi-only since the approval guidelines require the application not use an "excessive" amount of data transfer. So we'll only be able to allow it to use 3g if we're able to optimize the bandwidth needs of watching videos through the app.
Can't quote me on this though since it's just an educated guess. Edit: Actually it's probably going to be a separate app since I believe it has more features. |

So far so good :-) I'm hoping Apple/AT&T update the restrictions since not as many people will be buying the extra 3G plan. Thanks for looking into it. Please post if you find out anything more.
oh well Back to work T_T |

Any timing on the updated iPad app? The 2x iPhone window is working fine, but the resolution isn't so good.

I'm looking forward to the iPad App. Between CrunchyRoll and iMangaX apps, we don't need any stinking TVs anymore. Hey anime studios, release your OVAs direct to crunchyroll and reach the entire world.

Hard to have a release date set since it all has to go through Apple's approval process. It takes stuff from OneManga.com which doesn't have the right to distribute manga and they shamelessly charge people to purchase the app. Not really sure how this app passed Apple's standards. |

Sorry to keep pressing on this but is there a reason why there isn't even a possible release calendar on when the iPad app is going to be out? Again ignoring the app store approval process part will it be atleast released this summer?

I have no concrete info but I think the first version of the app is completed and should be in the approval process. I'm guessing there's a long list of things that need to be approved since the iPad was just released a couple of weeks ago. Even if I'm wrong, I'm sure it won't take more than a month for it to be released. |

Update: iPad app was denied so minor changes will need to be made and then it'll go through the whole approval process again. This is how it usually goes.
