Yea we noticed that, it's pretty cool to be featured. Now we just need to make it the best app ever by sorting out the bugs and small subs issue.

The problem with Haruhi is present with any series page that has multiple video folders. What happens is the app just displays the videos listed in the first video folder but not the rest. We're aware of it and will have that fixed in future releases of the app but, for now, people can still use the search function to find the videos.


Thanks for the update about the video/file issue. Just an FYI though, there is no search function on the iPad app. Users can only browse the categories listed.

Still not a big deal since there is a ton of other things to watch.

Oh, I don't have an iPad and haven't tried the iPad app so I just assumed it had a search function. Thanks for telling meh.

Please don't hard sub these videos, the whole reason I use crunchyroll is so I can be subtitle free. I'm sure you know better than I, but does Apple really not have a way to set subtitle size in the video widget? The app is great, could use a few features (video comments would be great) but I really enjoy it, and look forward to updates.

Ive noticed some movies have been blocked from the ipad due to age restrictions......will this be chainged in the future?

Unless Apple adds better subtitle support for the iPad, we're stuck with small subtitles. We would rather keep them as soft subtitles but it's a huge problem to have the subtitles so small since the majority of people that watch on here need the subtitles and dislike how small the subtitles are. If you look through the apps reviews, it's littered with people complaining about the small subtitles and they're rating the app down. iPhone app is currently a 4 Star product (out of 5) while the iPad version is listed as 3 Stars, primarily due to the subtitles.

Well Apple has strict policies about nudity and such so which series are you referring to?

Since the last update, I can't get the iPad app to run. It silently quits when I try to launch it. I have tried it on two different Wireless networks, portrait mode and landscape mode, turned the device off/on, etc.-- no luck.

Hm, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app from scratch.

Haven't been able to get even one episode to place

Either crash or if it gets to the media player part it just slowly loads and never plays. Left last one on for 15 minutes and i'm on a 18 down internet line and connected right next to the wireless router.

Hi. Love the iPad app. I've found your site due to the app. Now I'm a premium member.

Here are my requests:
Ability to output via VGA dongle
Add favorites to my account

iPhone App:

I can get subs for all of the new simulcast (Spring 2010) (with the exception of Giant Killing, probably because it's new), but I can't get subs for just about any other show. The option to turn subtitles on/off just isn't there. Is this a glitch or have subtitles not been added to the other shows on CR? If not, are they going to be in the future?

First of all I like this app much better then then the one for boxee. At least it works on the iphone. For streaming video the quality is very good and almost no drop in frame rates at all. So that is a huge plus.
When I watch shows online from Crunchyroll the quality is not the greatest and the frame rate is a bit lacking. So it's nice to lay in bet at night and watch some anime. I'm guessing the much smaller screen has a bit to do with this.

Now for the bad.
Yes It sometimes does crash after the video is over but not all the time and at least it doesn’t crash in the middle of it.

Why is there no watchlist for members? I don’t get the point in logging in if I have to search for every video that i want to watch. I have videos in my watchlist I should be able to have an option to select from that.

The ads are waaaaay to loud. I have to every single time turn my volume way down and then when the show starts its very quiet. This needs to be fixed. Its just annoying. I have no problem with the ads or that there are ads at all, but please fix this.

It would be nice to have a series play one episode after another instead of selecting each and every single one. Maybe let the user queue up a selected amount in a play list or something like that and after the video is over the next one plays after.

Also There isn’t a huge selection of anime on here that I like but thats just personal taste. For being really the only iphone anime streaming app its well done. a few more features and a few bug fixes and a bit more anime to select from and this app with be excellent.

Hi, we're working on fixing some of the video player issues people are having. We will be submitting an update for App Store review soon, so please let us know if things improve or you continue to have problems getting the app to work. Sorry for the bugs! Shinji is right, the app's still quite alpha -_-
