just curious, but do you people prefer to have breakups like just silently or not?
silently means that the bf/gf just suddenly stops talking to you, texting you and ignores you, or just suddenly leaves without telling you.
and the other one is to tell you something like 'let's breakup' directly.
i'd prefer the second one. but my friend prefers the first.

Yea.. a clear, concise & verbal break-up is preferred; it's also considerate.

Well if you plan to break up with some one, you've already passed the point of having the need to fight with them about it.

It is polite to at least say that it's not working and you want to break up. Not talking too them just means you still don't know what you want, and ignoring them just makes you look childish.

The first one (silent) makes you sound like a sissy no offense. Hiding from problems wont get you nowhere.

I prefer speaking to the other party about it. Breaking up silently is just isn't me.

^ This. You don't want to keep the person hanging, and you don't want to be left hanging. A misunderstanding during a break up can lead to even worse drama, and that's definitely not needed. You have enough drama at this point already.

The last person who I broke up with tried to break up through non-contact and always being "busy". You can't let that happen. Worse comes to worse, you write them an email or a private Facebook message or whatever and you make the situation as clear as possible. You need to get that message across one way or the other for both of your sakes, but especially to cover your butt.

Silent breakups are horrible... my friend always gets them. No one wants to lose their boy/girlfriend at all, but it's much worse to know that they didn't even have the decency to tell you what was on their mind.

A straightforward but gentle breakup [if you can display it that way] seems better.
