^ Your post makes me laugh so hard. can't believe weeabos like you are spreading so much now.

Your probably thinking I'm saying this because I'm a filipino. I'm actually half japanese, my mom is japanese, while my dad is filipino we lived in japan for 10 years. then moved here in the philippines. Life is not easy in japan like most of you think.

This thread is actually a "no-need" topic since majority of Filipinos, real Filipinos, are effin proud of their nationality. However, If you were born as filipino, or any nationality in general, and ashamed of yourself being one, then that's the time insecurity takes place. Everyone is beautiful. What makes it different is when people start to compare themselves to others and redefine the word "beauty."

PS: Correct me if i'm wrong, but this kinda is the truth based on 1st hand experience. Some Pinoys like Koreans, Japanese, other nationality more than their co-Pinoys. Some Americans like Pinoy/Pinay more than any other Asians coz they're different. If you're telling us that you're ashamed of yourself, then you're telling us you don't have confidence in you. Thus, you feel ugly and announce to us that you're effin ugly.

I'm actually a VERY proud Filipino. But the thing that makes me ashamed of being one are the shameful actions done by other Filipinos. Like the Hostage Crisis, that really got me pissed and ashamed. And at that period a lot of Americans and other Asians started bashing and generalizing Filipinos all over the internet. (As if their generalization and bashing BEFORE the whole incident wasn't enough.)

At one point I was in a random chat room at a gaming site, and when they asked me where I was from and said Philippines they called me bad things then kicked me out of the chat room. I mean really. >:L I hate racists and I won't stoop as low as them either. Any way I went out of topic. Another example is when other Filipinos use the internet it's really.. disgraceful. I'm not trying to insult anyone but really h0w Cum Th3y h4z 2 t0k lyK d1Z? Weeeeeell. I don't want to rant.

Bottom line is I love being a Filipino.

There seems to be a similar thread so I'll just copy-paste my reply from there:

I am not ashamed. I take to heart every page of our country's history and the present it holds. I love my country and am willing to serve it and my fellow countrymen. I would never deny my roots, I love being a Filipino. BUT at this moment, I cannot say that I'm very proud to be a Filipino. I appreciate every beauty and excellence in our nation, but I still can't say to the world, with all my heart, that I'm proud to be a Filipino. There's still much to be done. Rather than talking about things that have to do with pride, let's make a move and take a step forward, shall we?

First of all, I don't know what you are referring as the "Hostage Crisis." Other than that, I'm impressed to see how analytical you are in things around you. Those racists out there are living in darkness. There were times I experienced when people made fun of Filipinos while they didn't know I'm part Filipino. I felt like I was a spy for Filipino people, especially my Filipino buddy who was running for a student congress member back in old days. It was scary for me to see how often those "friendly" people turn out to be hideous monsters.

I can't really say I'm proud to be half Filipino because my Filipino cousins claimed I'm also part of Chinese (from Yungco family) and Spanish (my grandfather was half Spanish and half Filipino'). All I can say is that I'm proud to have Filipino ancestry. In fact, my mother told me that my very first acquaintance in preschool, under the British system, in Oman in the Middle East was a Filipino boy because he was the only full Filipino student. I was thrilled to hear that.
