i can't say i feel "proud" about being born an ethnicity that i had no control over choosing, so i think the word "proud" doesn't suit me. however, i do feel special that my cultural heritage is rich, and the history of the philippines is pretty damn interesting. i am also an american, but i can't say i am proud of that that as well since again, i had no control over being american since i was simply born into that as well. i am very comfortable being a filipina american!

I`m not proud, nor am I ashamed.

I don`t really care because I don`t racially stereotype or class myself as a specific race or nationality. I am my own person and I am certainly not the 'typical Filipino' that Filipino people expect me to be. All in all, I`m totally neutral towards this subject.

To any Filipinos that are ashamed of their race... Don't be! Just like any other country, once you delve into your own culture, I'm sure you'll love it Sorry, I think I'm the only non-filipino posting here lol

I maybe half pinoy but I'm still proud...especially after this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNNRj_jYCCc

Think you should always be proud of your heritage...because it's you. People say that it doesn't define you as a person, it shouldn't be a label or brand for you as a person. Well no, it shouldn't be the total sum of who you are...but it's still a part of your background that makes you. I was born half filipino half british in Saudi Arabia (where I lived till 18), and I consider them all big influences on my understanding of the world. And I'll root for Bradley Wiggins as much as the Pacman. I also live in Yorkshire now, so I also cheer for Jessica Ennis.

In short, everywhere you live, or are born in is part of you regardless. So why not be proud? It created the building blocks for you.

I was born in PI, grew up in US and I will always be proud to be a Filipino, except when I watch or hear the news about Filipino being corrupt and no togetherness.
