I will say that I loved the books far more than the anime. What made me like the anime though was the episodes of kisa following tohru (too cute) and I loved the song that momiji was singing in the hot springs... The voices in the anime were kinda creepish at times especially in the dubbed version.

I cried so many times when I read it! It was so well done!

It's a great manga. also, the cat is quite intesting, especially when the cat meets the mouse, and the female character should regulate them... >. <

I loved it :DDD However it can get really sad sometimes... But the story is great and I'm glad you get to know more information about the characters. There is also a real ENDING XD LETS GO XD

Honestly... I thought the manga was pretty good. But I ended up kind of hating it because of Tohru. She just annoyed the crap out of me. But everyone else was super cute and lovable <3

Can't say I really liked the anime... Guess reading the manga and then watching the anime kind of ruins it for me. I prefer to watch the anime first and THEN read the manga.

Fruits Basket was actually the first manga series I had ever read. I love it VERY much, and it will always be my favorite manga.



The anime on the other hand was ok, and that's because there were so many things that were left out, added in, and changed that by the time you got to the end of the anime it had a completely different feel than the manga did. The anime really only covered up to vol. 6, only adding in the stories of Hiro and Ritsu from volumes 7 and 8 but nothing else. And when I say they left out, added in, and changed things I'm not talking about leaving out Rin and Kureno or changing what Akito really was. I'm talking about leaving out, adding in, or changing important character, relationship, personality, and story developments, to the point that if they made a second season to the anime it wouldn't be able to follow it's manga properly and end up really weird. Personally I think the series should be remade to follow the manga better. Go read chapters 15 and 16 from volume 3 and then compare it to episode 11 in the anime and you'll see a HUGE difference between the anime and manga.

That's one of my favorite shoujo mangas ever. But it's too depressing, way too many stories in that manga. WHAT IS UP WITH AKITO'S MOTHER! GEEZ! xD

I really liked both the anime and the manga. The manga is better, but the anime is really what got me into anime in the first place, so it will always have a special place in my heart <3
