Japans terrible New law???
Posted 3/23/10

this also affects any characters under the age of 18 not just looking under 18 but sounding 18 as well, meaning no more high school dramas, comedies etc. Also it would be illegal to show characters in swim suits, school uniforms and anything else that looks proactive as well. It's way broaden and really needs to scale back, as I said in my earlier post if you want to read them, just go ahead and ban loli and shota porn, there really is no need for that in this day and age. "on a side note I like kodomo no Jinkan" but well that's just me.

Just like I said in one of my earlier post, I don't really care if this new law has the slightest chance of being passed (knowing how Japan's business industry works, this most likely won't be passed). I have other more important things in life to be stressing over than this insignificant matter. Its just amazes me how Japan is so gung-ho about this when they have more serious issues at hand.

I think their are just trying to fix their problem about it is legal for very young persons to have sex there.
And seems to be ok social. I was stock when I first found out what thoes idol movies was, havnt thier banned those? or shoud their not start there before worring about some semi cartoon porn?

legal age by federal law is 13, some local laws raises it, someplaces up to 18. But that is better then before, where there was no law about legal age.

well I have to agree with you as well, i have to worry about paying car insurance, worry about making sure my nephew and brother is safe, taking care of mother etc. I just wanted to point out the other things in my previous post is all sorry. Japan has it's own social issues to work out but they need to try to confront them not cover them.

This is a law intended to ban all sexual behaviors of fictional characters who LOOK below 18. Don't tell me how they're going to judge but if this is true, not only it will be the end of yaoi (as not only are the shota pron in danger but the whole genre of school yaoi will DIE) and imagine just what size that will be. In addition, Naruto, Reborn, Code Geass, and basically 99% of manga will perish with this law because characters who are fighting there are definitely below 18. The tricky thing about this law is that they're not really advertising the law, it's not on the news and nobody except a very small proportion of people even know about it.

If they pass that shit piece of law (which is likely at this moment because many people, even Japanese, don't know about the law so they don't even have a chance to oppose to the law), it'll be DOOMSDAY really for me because imagine reading manga WITHOUT ANY CHARACTER LOOKING BELOW 18????

even if this law wont happen....wat will happen to you if this law is officially aproved?

lol what? you're hallucinating man.
According to YOU, the law intends to ban all sexual behavior between characters that look below 18.
unless you read only perverted mangas, I think you'll be fine >,>
Last time I checked, fighting isn't a form of sex. :)

Now, I think that's a pretty sensible law.
Come on now, you can live w/o yaoi, yuri, loli, and shota stuff...

maybe ur the one hallucinating....cuz i said i only saw a thread about it in other site...

What does that have to do with your ridiculous statement: "imagine reading manga WITHOUT ANY CHARACTER LOOKING BELOW 18???? " ?

*sigh*..its just like a question..read the last part ...i dont want to explain anymore....

I doubt this law will be implemented, this sort of thing is far too popular.

This reminds me of a something I heard of when I was young, which may just be urban legend. Supposedly, in one state in the U.S., a law was introduced that would ban the publication or sale of any work of fiction in which a criminal act was portrayed. The problem with that (beyond First Amendment issues) should be obvious.

Personally, I think any work of fiction should be permitted. If it involves images, it should be allowed if no real persons were involved at any point for production of same. This includes works that I have no interest in, and frankly wouldn't mind seeing disappear from the face of the earth.

japan's terrible news is about yaoi getting banned?
what the hell is terrible about that?

My understanding is it's not just yaoi, but any manga with romances among characters 18 and younger.

(BTW, just because you don't care doesn't mean others don't, no need to be a prick. )

Anyways, sounds like a crap law that will never be passed.

Edit: In answer to the question, I think if it passed I'd be pretty darn pissed, but that's it.

Another poor soul misinformed by the idiotic Topic creator with terrible grammar .

Having fictional underage people =/= fictional underage sexual behaviors.

just like what the post above me said, it's only for those mangas that have a sexual act in it.

and also, care to point out on how i became a prick?

BUT BUT.. I WATCH PEDO PORN, AND I FANTASIZE ABOUT THESE TEENAGERS DATING/DOING ME. YOU CAN'T BAN MY DILDO OF MASTURBATION! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! (Protesters)

Truth be told, if they pass this law the world will be a much nicer place. Less pedo anime fanatics, less yaoi, less yuri. Please Japan pass this law, for your sake, and for ours.

Now before you start flipping shit and yelling at me and coming up with useless arguments, I won't be coming back to CR. I only signed up to post in this thread because a friend of mine showed it to me.
