Actually, I believe it's too late for that.

Oh, yes. The US was due to descend into a lower ring of hell. Another stop on the way to the bottom will be Obama's presidency.

Nope, it's just that people haven't wake up from all the brimstone and hellfire, when they're still dreaming about their entitlement, while they're stuffing themselves with lard. In other words, they wouldn't do anything for themselves at all unless it's made easy, when they're entitling themselves being both lazy and helpless.

Anyway, did you all hear about the death threats and assaults against Democrats for helping pass the US healthcare bill? Some Democrats even hired security in fear of their lives. Not only that, but people cheered as Obama was being bluntly called the "N word" at the signing.

It is now the year 2010, yet people are still behaving like it's the 1950's. No matter how much you dislike something, violence should never be the solution. I mean fights at work, bricks being thrown at houses, gas lines being cut, Obama supporters being harassed, it's pathetic. I believe people are behaving immaturely about this bill and now the president is being referred to as the next Hitler or the Antichrist. And to make it even worst, children are witnessing these barbaric antics. What has become of our generation?

Olberman summarized that problem in the US pretty nicely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgc-Dkv1pNY

The really conservative Americans seem to have gotten more and more extreme lately.

It's not about racism, they are venting their anger in an immature way. Bush had tons of death threats and people called him a monkey or the devil. The Dems pissed off America, sure a minute few may be acting like children, but they have every right to be angry.

@Yei, I wouldn't trust what Olberman says, he is a very biased liberal and isn't going to report the truth on conservatives. It's not that conservatives are more "extreme," we are just waking up because we are tired of seeing liberal legislation and the Democrats abuse America and the American people. The problem lies with Obama's ideology and the fact that Americans are being ignored and the majority got a smack to the face.

Canada's system is bad too, and this guy has a lot of great ideas about how health care should be run, the whole system seems to be fundamentally flawed in many developed countries.

I think it's flawed because of greed. Either the government wants power over people (socializing healthcare) or the insurance companies want to milk others for profit. I'll check the video out when I have time, but with any reform the main base needs to be limiting how far greed can corrupt and taking steps to lower costs through both regulation and free market fixes along with legal stuff (like malpractice suits).

but to pay for the healthcare doesnt the government raise the taxes on practically everything??

I think it is a good idea, but just not now. Right now we have too many problems like the economy and the war in Iraq. Once we clear our deficit, then I think it would be a good idea.

According to Reagan, America is now one step towards being a socialist country.

Maybe they do have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give them the right to yell racial slurs and attack others.

You are correct, but they are a minute minority and not the majority. There will always be nuts with every political affiliation.

I suppose so, I don't know enough about politics to debate about it.

However, to a trained human behavioral analyst, what those people are doing isn't really all that different than the ones who egged them on in the first place with their rhetoric(by that I meant the Republicans'). It's basically how people caught inside a cult would react with a mob mentality, not politics.

So what about the shooting of a Republican office not to long ago?http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/03/25/house-gop-no-2-someone-shot-at-my-office/ What about the Democrat rhetoric that says "Republicans want you all to die, only the rich can have healthcare. Republicans think the poor should die so the rich may get more. Republicans don't like this bill because they want you to die and are for big business insurance..." I could easily go on.
