I hear it may leave your iPhone vulnerable to iPhone viruses but the advantage to jailbreaking it is that you won't be bound by Apple's restrictions such as not having Adobe Flash. Personally, I wouldn't jailbreak my iPhone.

^ hate when fags that post one liners without reading the OP at all. Anyways Jailbreaking is illegal since you're illegally changing the way the apple device functions and by doing so, this breaches the contract of following said rules using the device. Clearly stating, it's not a good idea to jailbreak for free apps but anyone would do ANYTHING to get their hands on free stuff. Personally, I wouldn't jailbreak my ipod, I did it once and almost screwed up my ipod.

Jailbreaking is really cool ~ got real lots of functions and games you downloaded for , FREE. It would be really sad if apple found out but i notice many people been doing it so , let's die together. xD

I hate fags who use 'fag' as an insult! Of course it's illegal, that's why it's called "Jail breaking".

I jailbroke mine, and it works fine. But I have had problems jailbreak when I had my iTouch, which made me have to restore the iTouch twice before >.>
I got warranty on the phone though ^_~

Yes it is the best. That is the reason I got an ipod touch in the first place and I benefit from it a lot Plus it gave me a lot to do.

Good if you want free and extra stuff. Bad if you don't know what you're doing and you end up screwing up.
I have 2 ipod touches, I used to jailbreak my old one, but I restored it. Plus, I buy my apps, there's no point of getting cracked apps. Also, before, the jail break for the 3.1.2 software wouldn't work on MC models, so I couldn't jailbreak my newer one.
I'm not sure if there's even a jailbreak available for the 4.0 software yet. I'm probably not gonna get it though. I don't want to jailbreak it simply because I don't want to restore my itouch if I do mess up. I have a lot of data in my games that I don't want to get rid of..
I can just take the risk and jailbreak it perfectly, but I would also take the big risk of screwing up.
Also, fyi, your warranty, if it's still active, would be voided if you do jailbreak it. But, if you restore it, it would be like you had new iphone/itouch, so don't worry about it too much. The apple people probably will never know, unless your jailbreak screwed up the hardware somehow, then you're screwed. Apple would probably know that you jailbreaked it. If they knew, then your warranty is voided, and they won't help you.

I've had my iPhone jail broken for a long time and it's no big problem. The only reason I did it was to get my iPhone on tmobile. I could care less about getting free apps or whatever. I just don't like AT&T.

Currently I have an iPad and it's not jail broken. I have no real reason to do it.

It's legal now but it voids your ipod warranty
