I'm not sure if this belong to the extended discussion

Today I argued with my friend about the definition success, although we grew up together we had very different views about being successful. We are relatively poor (or at least according to her we are) and she strikes to become rich. She pointed out you are successful when you are rich. At that point I didn't agree with her because I argued that money can't buy you everything. I said "For example, you can't buy love, wisdom, intelligence or health." She said "Of course you, you can hire people who are smart and if you are rich you can take care of your body"

There was also other people rather who rather agreed with her and say I'm naive to not think so. I dunno, but she should try harder to convince or just I'm just staying true to my view.

What is this world turning into? I'm not saying you gotta poor and all but leading a decent and content life is pretty good to me already. I don't think money will actually make you happier its what you do with the money that makes you happy. (I think I'm like one of those late-born hippies or something )

My question to you is: how do you define success? And do you agree or disagree with me and why?

Success to me is when you achieve a goal that leads to happiness. Success is also something lasting, not something fleeting.
If it's truly success then you should be able to enjoy it for times to come. Either as a happy memory or as something more concrete.
