lately All i have been reading is how bad Shinji and CR are for only having 5 new titles. Why not give some positive encouragement? Running an international business is no walk in the park. Have you ever tried to finish a project where your peers just say it sucks cause its not finished or just It sucks. It's impossible to effectively work in an environment like that. So I would like to Cheer Shinji and the rest of CR on, And want to thank them for the hard work they do. And look forward for the rest of this seasons line-up, and the following seasons.

I wonder if they are going to explain what is going on? I dont think it is a good idea to just live it as is without explaining what happened since we are paying to see these things . The least they can do is tell us why the anime line up has changed and why is is going to way it is. I am watching most of my anime else where at the moment but wish I was able to watch it here. I dont want to cancel my membership but as of right now there are only 2 shows that I watch regularly. That is not really worth it.

My thoughts exactly!

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimao is the only thing in the spring lineup that looks decent. If they don't get some more anime soon I'll probably quit my membership.

I know that's the only one I like, but I'm watching the others only because I paid for them

Out of all the new shows CR only has 4... This is BS and if it doesn't improve I'm not going to pay for another year.... Try getting subscribers to pay when the lineup is garbage.... Grrr it annoys me.....
Only 1 of the new shows CR has is good anyway....
Heroman is decent.
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou is the best.
The other is gay, and I mean gay not stupid.....
the 4th is a second season...

It is too bad.

Of the new shows I too am only watching Ichiban Ushiro no Daimao now (which is merely fun- no masterpiece). I was watching Heroman but it's proved itself to be just too cliched and cheesy.

While I think I will renew one more quarter , the poor selection has inspired me to not to follow through with my original plan of changing to a full-year subscription. I'll finish up with Durarara and see if you really do follow through with your teases of further shows this season and see what the next season holds in store before ditching.

I do sympathize, your negotiations must have hit a brick wall somewhere this year, Funimation went and got in the game by snagging the Noitamina shows streaming rights. But the value is simply not there to continue if this downward trend continues.

Maybe if you lowered the prices or ditched the separate Drama subscription, or really got into hosting more older shows (like Haruhi) and made that a bigger focus it would still be worth it even if you couldn't fulfill your goal of "50% or more of current shows in Japan."

Well I did have a membership, but that acc...I couldn't maintain it...certain reasons..(siblings/finacial things etc)

Even though this is the truth, international businesses are far more complicated than have the people that have memberships here can even comprehend...
However, when you have, I'm probably making a horrible guesstimate, but maybe hundreds to half a thousand or so people paying for a year's membership whereas some of the shows that are supposed to be top of the line can be free to watch elsewhere, you feel ripped off. And like any business venture, if your consumers aren't happy, it's your job to ensure you do something about it. Of course I don't know how the negotiations are, nor do I know if things are just simply unreasonable and they're asking for outrageous things(not CR/Shinji). The fact still remains, people pay and if they aren't happy they move on elsewhere.

Threatening that you'll leave because things are not perfect and you want it now is childish though. Of course, if they don't deliver on what you all are paying for later down the road, I can't say I disagree with you leaving and not renewing a membership. But like I just said, saying "If things don't shape up right now, I'm gunna' get weally weally mad" is just absurd. Give it time folks.

The whole problem that I see with this situation is not that they aren't getting a ton of new shows (although that would be great) but the complete lack of communication about the situation. It only takes seconds to make an announcement, but the last we heard was that they had a "few" more simulcasts to announce "later" and to "bear with them," and that was 17 days ago. That's over half a month....in my eyes it is entirely unreasonable to leave paying customers with no correspondence for that long whatever the excuse. If there are licensing issues, schedule conflicts, money negotiation problems, etc.. it is completely understandable as I'd expect trying to do what CR does is a complex affair, but in such a situation paying customers deserve to be notified about such things. In my eyes it is completely unprofessional to leave customers in the dark about a service that they are paying for with only rare vague comments about any progress. I'm not one to whine and moan that I'm going to cancel my subscription because, even if I only watch one show here (DRRR) I am helping in small part to support an industry that I gain enjoyment from. I just find it extremely frustrating....

They are running a business as you said. We are paying customers. We are unsatisfied with the service we are paying for. Why would we tell them what a wonderful job they are doing? If you go to a resteraunt and they give you bad food, do you tell the cook what a wonderful job they are doing?

But they are between a rock and a hard place here. If they share as much information as all users would like, they will get reputations in Tokyo for being indiscreet and won't be able to get as many new shows.

It would be a good thing, however, if they have an announcement that says that negotiations are still ongoing, that they enter a weekly reminder that if they have no new news to offer, that they update that announcement every week to say confirm that negotiations are still underway and there is nothing new to report.

One thing is its hard to get a large number of good shows out of Spring when there are fewer new shows airing in Spring. If they just keep getting this share of new shows (closer to 1/3 than 1/2), Summer will be substantially more simulcasts, and better odds of something good to watch. Personally, I am catching up on Durarara and catching up on my watchlist in the back catalog ... I don't have any other stream I am following from this season other than House of Five Leaves at Hulu/funimation.

That's in essence what I was talking about. It is unreasonable for us to expect them to tell us explicit information about contractual dealings such as "so and so turned us down on the simulcast of x because the broadcasting contracts were not finalized, so we are going to offer them x more dollars in order to persuade them to allow us to show it," but something along the lines of "we are still working on one or 2 simulcasts, but they have hit a few snags and we are currently still working on them" would go a long way to assuage members anxieties over this lack of response. Especially if there were updates every few days or even each week (not over a month with no word like we have had.) Even if there is no real substantial news to report a small blurb to the effect that "we are still working on it" is all I'm looking for.

hey, there's one more simulcast being announced Thursday, wonder which it'll be? course i'm not going to be happy if i'll have to do a lot of "catch up" in order to watch the most current stuff like with Giant Killing, but late is better than never.

Might be Bleach this whole petition thing went way too smooth and finished way too fast, something isn't quite right, if not, hopefully it'll be something interesting.
