Wow...some people are pretty harsh.

I'm not a big fan of Jin but I have noticed the difference since he came back from the states. He definitely has a cockiness to him that I ca

Hey everyone! I've been a member on Crunchyroll for a while but I don't come here that often and I've never posted in the forums.

But I just heard about Jin's LA concert and I really want to go! It's kind of a once in a lifetime chance for me, I don't wanna let it slip away. I was just wondering if there are any other fans here that live in the US or are close to LA who are planning on going. Maybe we could meet up or something.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I think Jin should have his shot, on the other, I wish his heart was with the group. I wish he could do concerts in US at a different time than the Asian tour because it looks so bad. He is so up and energetic about his solo stuff and so moody about KAT-TUN stuff. In the end he has little decision about what he does.
Who owns Jin? Who owns KAT-TUN? Johnny san. Johnny signs these guys to long term slave like contracts. If Johnny likes you, you get more favors. If he doesn't, or if you cross Johnny, you are forgotten and you have to make your own way (Ikuta Toma) Johnny san has a little monopoly on the Japanese Entertainment market. If you walk away from Johnny, who is going to sign you and risk Johnny's wrath?
Jin does not seem happy, he seems like an artist that is stifled or in a cage, he goes through the motions because he has to. I think he likes his bandmates but he wants to take his music in a different direction. He wants to grow in a different direction. Is he selfish? yes! most artists are and like many pampered artists, he needs to grow up a little. He has never truly been Johnny idol material, he is too much an individual, he breaks he rules constantly and Johnny san looks the other way because Jin makes money. I think he likes the freedom of western culture and dislikeshaving to do and say the proper thing all the time.
He will never be able to leave KAT-TUN unless Johnny allows it. He will never be able to go solo unless Johnny allows it. UNLESS He can become popular and chart in the US. Then, maybe he can sign with an American agency. Doing this would burn all his bridges in Japan as a Johnny. It means saying good bye to a lifestyle and brotherhood that he has shared (closer than his family) for 15 years. Never to perform with his BFFs Pi and Ryu.; because if he leaves that way, Johnny will cut him off.
You can't believe any of the media because Johnny controls that to a certain degree. Does anybody really think that Koki or Kame can have the freedom to say, 'That guys is a selfish ba*****!"? No, Johnny would never let the rest of KAT-TUN say what they really felt. In that respect, Jin is the only one whith guts enough to say things.
I think KAT-TUN is more than Akanishi Jin, If Jin were to leave (but I don't think he will) they will survive and do well because they are all talented in their own ways. Vocally, I would miss Akame because their voices were made for each other, their instinct and timing cannot be duplicated.
Jin will be back as long as Johnny controls the paycheck and as long as KAT-TUN makes money for Johnny.
I fell angry at Jin because he is so selfish and throws attitude but I feel sorry for him too, His decisions are not easy ones. I hope when he comes back he will reach a point where he can happily be a part of KA-TUN. Johnny san is the real problem moreso than Jin..

Nakamaru could sing all his part like should've been doing anyways. Kokame is sexier.

It's just a shame how Kat-Tun let DBSK take over Japan like that.

eh!?

What does that mean?

How is KAT-TUN letting DBSK take over Japan? XS

Sure, DBSK are the first non-japanese artist to reach number 1 in the Oricon chart but I don't think that they would be able to surpass KAT-TUN XP

I was Akanishi Jin's fan for like 33 minutes before they showed Kamenashi Kazuya in Gokusen II XP

My point is, at first I was interested in KAT-TUN only because of Kame-chan but then, I came to love them and now they are my most favorite group of all time. Since I was a late fan, I only came to know about Akanishi's departure in 2006-07 AFTER he came back so I didn't really know how some fans felt at that time.

I've never been Akanishi Jin's fan and will never be (I don't hate him or like him). Especially now that he has the so-called-I've-been-to-America-so-I'm-not-a-dork-anymore attitude. My top fav. KAT-TUN is always gonna be no.1 Kamenashi Kazuya and no.2 Ueda Tatsuya and then all the members come at the same no.3 level.

But I could at least stand him when he was actually 'participating' in the group. Sure, he wants to expand his music worldwide but I don't think he has to go away till October just for 3 shows in LA, He could join in on the few shows and even if he doesn't, to be honest, I couldn't care less.

The only problem is, IF him leaving the group sooooo many times affects KAT-TUN to the point of breaking up (music industry is harsh and johnny-san isn't exactly an 'angel'), then I would hate him.

If he's solo performances doesn't affect KAT-TUN to that point, then he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Oh and this may sound selfish but when he was gone for those times in 2006-07, other KAT-TUN member actually seem to have had more singing parts

i dont know if im glad or not. i mean, it is kinda mean to perform without kat-tun and debut in another country as a solo and gain fame w/o ur group mates, right? but jin may also be doing this for them. since they already arranged the tour before jin was offered to perform in LA what else could johnny do? i think it's the best way. it's compromise...in a way that johnny's entertainment can gain fame(meaning all the other johnny's boy band will gain recognition too) while the fans from other countries of asia can still see kat-tun...just without jin. i'm sure jin loves kat-tun and everything i mean they've been a group for so long and i'm kinda sure he would wanna perform with the other members and see his fans but he cant just throw away a big chance like this for him and for johnny's. but yeah i agree abt the part with jin changing and i do find nakamaru's voice nicer than jin's but i guess the reason he bacame lead singer along with kame is cuz of good looks?
i also am afraid that if jin becomes famous the whole world of johnny's(jpop) will too...by alot...like what happend to kpop. and i'm glad people can recognize their greatness but i somewhat feel selfish. like suddenly hearing everyone singing their songs and gossiping about them...i cant explain xDD its like having to share something u love so much...its more thrilling i guess...cant really explain well. xDDDD
well either way i wish good luck comes to jin for his solo concert and to K*T-TUN for their tour :Db

wow, so many ppl with bashful comments of Jin lol. But thats ok its their opinion and we do have the freedom of speech haha. It is pretty cool that Jin is coming to u.s but i wish it was the whole group. That would have been cooler. I do get the impression that he has a cocky character but since i don't know him personally, then I really wouldn't know.

I agree with everything you wrote. Johnny has more control over these guys then people think.

I think Akanishi will never formally announce he is no longer part of the group unless he is able to sign with an American agency. If he leave Johnny 's agency without a strong success in the States, no one will sign him again in Japan.

His music isn't bad. His English has improved but not enough to pass as a native American speaker. Its still hard to understand him when he raps.

seriously, those haters that thinks that jin is the one who decided everything are plain retarded.
be it jin or kt-tun, they're all employees of a company.
have you ever seen a clerk ordering a the CEO around?
it's all decided by JE/Johnny's. both A and K has already said so, that they're both surprised and confused when they got to know about the entire thing. it was in the KA FAQ section in some random JE mag... i forgot what was it.
...
found it. the 甘ささ corner from Myojo June
Q: Akanishi-kun, Kamenashi-kun. How are you? First time talk to you, but I've been always supporting you. This time..how do you feel about the five-member live and Akanishi-kun's solo live? All of a sudden, it was announced like-- "gonna do this", which was kind of shocking. Please do tell us what's going on.

K: un

A: un, really sorry for the suddenness ne, and this corner always has random and messy answers, also sorry ne. To be honest, so far the content isn't very sure yet. It hasn't been decided yet.

K: About how the five-member live will look like, it's still quite clueless. If this makes you feel upset, sorry.

A: Although it probably sounds like we care about ourselves only, please still keep supporting us, and we'll be very happy for that.

K: un

A: When I heard about the solo live thing, I was also very confused. I talked to my friend, and he answered me “it's great" in a very normal way. Yes, it is great~I think.

K: So far, many things are still left to be decided. Although nothing can be said here, when things are settled down, we'll tell in a detailed way.

you guys/gals should really go understand how a general company works before making such plain stupid bashing comments.
or do you think Jin actually owns JE?
