Yes the Renya one is a Manga, but a new Anime Series, or R3 that sunrise says will be a "Rebirth" has been green lit and is supposedly scheduled to release in 2010 (AKA this year)

but it is still unsure whether this R3 is either a Continuation or a Remake and is also unsure whether it is an OVA a Movie or a Actual Series

Hmm. I thought C.C was supposedly immortal anyway. And this whole business of the story being in a different timeline is an idea of the Gundam series. (well there are probably other series that does this also.) For Gundam, this has played out well for the franchise since it gives creativity for the authors of the different series as well as, benefiting the fans of Gundam. Many great stories have come out of this arrangement and gundam fans tend to have their favorite eras. How well this works with Code Geass is something I think we will have to wait and see if its a good idea for this particuliar anime or not.

I was hoping for a follow up series going where C.C *and Lelouch, we all know he is to crafty to let himself actually get killed* went at the end of S2. Meh, I'll watch this anyway, I LOVED the first 2 seasons.....not sure how I feel about going back in time. Maybe they can explain how the 3 huge empires got set up.

Wonder what the new main characters Geass will be.........if it's the same as Lelouch, I'll be very disappointed.

Code Geass R2 had a good ending. although I was a bit dissapointed that Lelouch died, I don't want them to do some retarded continuation in where he magically is alive somehow. R3 is most likely a prequel to 'lelouche of the rebellion' if they don't go ahead with the IT'S MAGICALLY THE FUTURE WHERE ALL THESE DEAD PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY ALIVE BWA HA HA. What i want to see is either "Suzaku of the counterattack" or "Nightmare of Nunally" made into an anime. R4 and R5 maybe? hell, i'd even like to see "Code Geass: Tales of an Alternate Shogunate" in anime form.

I wasn't implying in my post he'd magically be alive. He could have easily used the Geass to make everyone think that who ever that person was that got stabbed was him. That was just my wishful thinking when I saw the end though. Lelouch was a tactician, and he was his strongest piece on the chess board. I just can't imagine him leaving everything in the hands of a 'fighter' and hope that everything turns out for the better. He must have had another card up his sleeve to ensure his plans would work the way he envisioned them.

WoW~ You have the same idea I had, when I watching the ending. Kept thinking about few things the author could have done to us. They could '' make'' us believe he is dead, or like your theory which make more sense to me, cause after his father, he had two eyes active, so he could have use them like Itachi in Naruto as a genjutsu, brain wash people into thinking he got killed, but who knows.

I also agree with few people, when they bring a new anime, they need one that stay with the time line, nor some random one with characters that look so similar to each other, and they go back in time, if u do that. u need to have his father-brother, and see how it began.

Sadly, Lelouch IS dead, as awesome as he is he couldn't have geassed people into believing he's dead. Heck quite a few people present have already been geassed (Kallen, Cornelia). Also he chose to die, he didn't have to. Suzaku made it clear when he asked "Are you sure you want to do this?". As he said himself, he is entrusting the world, not to Suzaku, but to "people's wishes" and counting on the people to make the world a better place.

All that being said, Lelouch's death made the Code Geass R2 ending one of the best anime endings ever. If they did do some lame resurrection thing it will just ruin the series. From what I've seen so far characters like the original cast will be in the anime, but no names were mentioned so maybe the similarities ends there. Anyway I'll certainly look forward to it with utmost impatience...

This seems completely retarded, but it's not like R2 didn't already become retarded either.

I used to like Code Geass, it was an okay anime, but "R2" was when I called it quits. First episode and I was out.

Oh look, another genius teenager! Oh boy *rolls eye*.

No... just no. New seasons always seem to ruin the anime when the story already ended.
