Is it a bad idea to add strangers as friends on Crunchyroll?

I was eating sushi when this topic pop to me, does people really care what other people say on crunchyroll? We all know that it's a whole lot easier talking to people you have no idea where their coming from. We feel less likely to get pressure from the other person and more likely to type what we desire and feel like. Basically the internet is like a mask and how we use it to disguise ourselves as another person online does truly benefit to those people with low self esteem and issues they have in real life. Some people release stress when talking to someone who might have no clue what happened in your life but this gives something to take off from yourself, u might not have much female or male friends so you decide to talk to people on anime forums to meet new people most of the time. There's also a personality issue related to adding new strangers on crunchyroll. Some people might be shy or doesn't communicate very well via with rl people or in groups. How does this factor into your life? What is the main reason you go on crunchyroll and chat in your channel and what desires do you to do so?

no? it depends... i think the weirdos who look for girl's adresses, visits them, and then rapes them when nobody is there are probably more commonly found on youtube or myspace or facebook or twitter. Are there otaku rapers out there?

well baisaclly i go to crunchyroll is becuz i LOVE ANIME - MANGA - & DRAMA

in real life i cant really find ppl who shares the same interests i have - most of them make fun of wat i like - so adding SOME STRANGER WHO MIGHT BECOME A FRIEND BUT DOES SHARE THE SAME INTEREST (THAT!!!) i DONT THINK IT REALLY IS A BAD IDEA

that is just to put it in simple state and most likely THE NO.1 REASON

i'll keep thinking about your Question and will be back ^^

but one more thing how about directing the Q to U ? (( just curios about yr opinion )) xD

No. It's only a bad idea if you give out personal information to strangers.
If you watch who/how your talking and keep your mouth shut of things you should never talk about you're perfectly fine.
Actually, Crunchyroll is on the safe side compared to other websites on the internet.

As long as I don't post:

my full name
what city i live in
what school i go to

I should be relatively safe!

well.. how will you have new friends if you won't meet strangers right? and be friends with them... ^^
but ov cuz there are some limitations.. in being friends with em.. ^^ well
if you're pretty sure that they are truly honesty to you and trustworthy well you
can give em some personal info..
but them again.. there are still some limitations.. ^^

^ LOL.

Imo, I don't think it's that bad. As long as you keep personal stuff secret, it's not a bad idea. You can make some friends to chat with afterall! xP

Doesn't really matter, as most people don't show their true self on the internet. It's usually a persona, or mask if you will.

As long one don't disclose personal information, one should be fine.

Then again, you got the ultimate test. Webcam or mic. Or well, as ultimate as you can get without meeting in real life.

The internet is a "double-edged sword" so to speak, it's really all left up to preference.
