no? it depends... i think the weirdos who look for girl's adresses, visits them, and then rapes them when nobody is there are probably more commonly found on youtube or myspace or facebook or twitter. Are there otaku rapers out there?

I was eating sushi when this topic pop to me, does people really care what other people say on crunchyroll? We all know that it's a whole lot easier talking to people you have no idea where their coming from. We feel less likely to get pressure from the other person and more likely to type what we desire and feel like. Basically the internet is like a mask and how we use it to disguise ourselves as another person online does truly benefit to those people with low self esteem and issues they have in real life. Some people release stress when talking to someone who might have no clue what happened in your life but this gives something to take off from yourself, u might not have much female or male friends so you decide to talk to people on anime forums to meet new people most of the time. There's also a personality issue related to adding new strangers on crunchyroll. Some people might be shy or doesn't communicate very well via with rl people or in groups. How does this factor into your life? What is the main reason you go on crunchyroll and chat in your channel and what desires do you to do so?

You basically answered the title yourself. The answer is no, some people can't make friends in real life so they make ones on the net. There's nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with talking to a stranger on the net. It's different then randomly talking to a stranger in the subway. They might kill you if they turn out to be a psycho. But on the net, you can just block and delete if you don't like someone.

As for myself, I have friends in real life whom I hang out with very often. I have no trouble making friends in real life, but that doesn't mean I should stop looking for friends online. It's always good to meet new people. In your city, you can't really meet someone across the world and get their perspective on life and their opinion on some matters. Having Internet friends is great. I believe people should have both real life friends and online. It's always nice to have someone.

This matter differs from person to person, would the people u meet online really care what u say? That's wat I'm trying to get or it's a joke cause some people just make online friends to talk about something they are passionate about such as anime and manga but some people make online friends to talk too such as rl friends u meet in school, from a friend, party, so forth. Would the same ideas u would be saying in real life differ from what you would say to some stranger u haven't even meet face to face be the same experience. Meeting online people is a pretty dangerous thing cause there's not telling what might happen but the experience u get from meeting in rl is quite strong and enticing. Such as the topic on CR does fake friends count, can u really say that person has been there for u, would u want to meet them in rl, would u see their personality through the internet? Usually people that acts as someone else becomes normal on anime forums since many want to feel that sense of belonging and acting cool and secure but is that you or is that the person u want to become through socializing people you meet online without getting a real answer? There's more too it that meets the eye.

well baisaclly i go to crunchyroll is becuz i LOVE ANIME - MANGA - & DRAMA

in real life i cant really find ppl who shares the same interests i have - most of them make fun of wat i like - so adding SOME STRANGER WHO MIGHT BECOME A FRIEND BUT DOES SHARE THE SAME INTEREST (THAT!!!) i DONT THINK IT REALLY IS A BAD IDEA

that is just to put it in simple state and most likely THE NO.1 REASON

i'll keep thinking about your Question and will be back ^^

but one more thing how about directing the Q to U ? (( just curios about yr opinion )) xD

One of my hobbies include anime. Well, I've been on different anime forums searching for a variety of anime shows to watch but haven't found a website that stream 720p so I found this website by chance. I decided to spend a few dollars watching them in 720p but haven't found a decent loyal fanbase that likes to share common topics posted by me. I do download most if not all my animes in 720p and 1080p but if there's no such quality 480p is usually the next best thing. Most other anime forums aren't really good at spending times on certain issues we deal with everyday but delude themselves to pretending to be an anime character online and teasing with anime jokes. It didn't feel enjoyable since the experience wasn't there. The number one reason I joined this website was to stream brand new series without getting thrown off topic by flamers and what nots. Anyways, there's many people that like anime in rl, u just have to find the right people to talk with. If you can't find that interest you can obtain new ones from them or use this as a hobby that you enjoy. I feel that the random people you add on CR usually act differently than they do and give fake personalities to you. I don't see how this will make yourself feel natural when you're talking to them about topics.

I met one of my classmates online.

Is it wrong to meet people online? I think sometimes yes, but to an extent no.

Usually that's not the case, this topic is about meeting some stranger somewhere in the world that you will never see or meet in person. Is that some person u want to talk to to past time or is that person u really care and wish to talk more with them?

Why do you keep bumping your thread?

"Is a Bad Idea to Add Strangers as Friends on Crunchyroll"

That's what your thread asks.

Is it a bad idea? I don't think so. I would like to meet some people irl who I met online actually.
