Wow this anime is pretty interesting. As to be expected of Shaft. This anime is quite like Bakemonogatari in that it seems its gona be dialogue heavy and we will get out laughs out of the conversations. I must say, a character like Nino is the female lead is a very surprising change to any other female leads in animes...tho the best comparison would be Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari. Of course the main male lead voice actor is the same from Araragi from Bakemonogatari so we need we r gona have quite funny/interesting dialogue. Heck people living under a bridge? Thats a pretty neat enviroment to have the anime take place. I have the same level of expectation from this anime as I did with Bakemonogatari. I think this anime will be quite superb. This anime didnt SHOUT OUT to me or anything, but I think its gona be a superb comedy dialogue anime.

So what are your thoughts?

I believe Arakawa is different from Bakemonogatari in the sense that Bakemono maintains its strong Nishio influence through it's witty dialogues. Either way, it breaths SHAFT, and it's always a welcome break from the monotony of most typical anime.

I'm currently withholding my disbelief with regard to the turn of events since the characters are as eccentric as they are crazy for a SHAFT production. But that's precisely why I enjoy watching works by SHAFT studios. I have high expectations for this show.

Not too sure what ya mean by *Nishio influence*, but if what im interpreting is correct, then you mean that Bakemono is MORE along an anime about witty dialogue in such( Like it has more witty dialogue than Arakawa)..and if thats the case then yea your right. And probably even better dialogue too. I have no idea if that has anything to do with what you said but I THINK I can understand.
And yea, Shaft is just great with its eccentric characters, with shows like Zetsubou sensei, Bakemono, just to name a few. And I too have high expectations.

Episode 2 was just as random and funny as the first. We get to see new characters (Suprising selection of voice actors to I must say) and practically half of them are wearing masks like the Mayor xD. The Sister was probably the funniest thing in this episode so far. Also liked how Recruit couldnt have a normal conversation with Nino xD. Anyway this show seems to be heading in the right direction so lets look forward to some more Arakawa!

Episode 2 was great. The "sister" was epic and the kappa cosplay at the end after the credits was pretty funny too

Bakemonogatari is not over yet. episodes 13-15 were not aired on TV but released on the web. 15 is not out as of today though.

anyway, episode 2 of Arakawa was not as funny as the first episode. but it's still decent. the church part was very funny.

My friend recommended Bakemonogatari to me once but I haven't seen it. This anime, however, is hilarious! I didn't expect it to be funny. And I like the art. Gosh, such an eccentric story.
Will watch some more, no joke xD.

Episode 3 was pretty good. The delivery of lines and the pauses remind me of Maria+Holic, also by Shaft. Tomokazu Sugita voicing Hoshi is hilarious. Worries me too. Maybe Gintama won't come back.

Episode 3 brought us another good episode. By now I gotta feel sorry for Recruit....no matter what he does it just doesnt work the way he wants it too xD. And I loved the quarrel between Recruit and Hoshi...that was great. I dont know about anyone else...but when I saw Nino in that dress....my eyes were GLUED...so magnificent! I swear this anime has so many top notch voice actors its unbelieveable. But I must say....the little quiz show at the end had me puzzled to the jokes : / Anyways...cant wait for the next episode!

And to the above post...I absolutely loved Maria & Holic...with Matsurika being my favorite character xD God I want a second season! And yea....I hope Gintama comes back......its the best comedy anime ever made....so I cant imagine that it would just stop completely

Episode 4 was great once again...probably the funniest one so far. We get to see a blonde loli named Stella who is actually a major Sadist xD! So cute yet she can manhandle Recruit like anything. And LOL at how Recruit kept kicking Nino...that was great! I think Stella is gona be one of my favorites characters in this anime. And I like how Maria talks trash to everyone she sees xD! She even took down Sister! Anyway, on to next episode!
