Lesbian Sent to Fake Prom
|
to me this beggs the question of how many teens go stag/ette to there prom because of fear of "coming out of the closet" and being discriminated against in just such a manner.
since the judge "ruled the district could not bar McMillen and her date." i blame the student body and parents for this feasco. i mean really people, you don't have to like it, and you certainlay don't have to do it, but tricking her and hideing it from her is just plain wrong. seriously grow a back bone and pe a lil more accepting of peoples decision of who they date |

offline? what is this Offline you speak of? i know not what it is

So, you're saying that it's cool that they set up a fake prom and tricked her into going to it? That girl wanted to be at the real prom with everyone else and be treated like a normal human being. But they couldn't accept that she was gay, so they didn't let her come, and she had to go to the bullshit prom with seven bloody people. Could you fill me in on how that's cool at all? So everybody suppose to be uncomfortable because she is gay and not enjoy they prom? She wanted a prom to go with her date she got one. They wanted to feel comfortable at a prom they did. Both side win to me. You can't force your gayness on anyone. I hardly see how the two of them just being at prom is forcing their gayness on anyone. They should have just as much right to be there as anyone else. So she has the right to make everyone feel uncomfortable and not enjoy they prom because she wants to enjoy her prom. My cousin know people that went to the other prom without her and everyone was happy she wasn't there not because she was gay but cause she made the school look bad. |

How did she make the school look bad? By being gay? All Im saying is it's a classic case of kids being too caught up in what someone else is doing. If they have time to worry about 2 chicks dancing together they obviously weren't having much fun to begin with.

I love how all the attention is focused on the lesbian couple. WOW, big surprise.
Nobody is advocating for the two students with mental disability or the kids that lack any social skills. So that's just routine nowadays huh? It's acceptable that they're being left out? Only gay issues that are considered "hot topics" and controversial are being sympathized with? A pair of lesbians aren't popular in a school, big whoop. Cry me a fucking river. You want people to be treated equally then start off by seeing the whole picture. Seven other people weren't invited to the party held by the social norm, yet everyone cries over the lesbian couple. Sexual preference isn't the only reason for unfair treatment. |

That's what she said. <---Greatest. Line. Ever.

Wow~ Way to discriminate and these are supposed to be the students' superiors and people that they look up to? Gosh~ It's.. what? the 21st century already I'd think people would be more open minded.

Hehe, first when i read the title for the thread i got a lil confused since i misread it as ''lesbian sent to fake porn'' but then when i re-read i just found it ridiculous cause, well. people are trying so hard to avoid lesbians, jeez. they are just normal people who like the same gender, not clowns with chainsaws -.-

Take a reality check, luv, she deserved to be at the real prom just as much as anyone else. We're not in the dark ages anymore, love is love, no matter what gender. And until you can grow up and accept that, take your bloody bigotry and scram. |

She should be thankful, she got her very own prom, and there were stand up comedians there too. The retards I mean.

I can see both sides of this arguement. The Pro-Lesbian side will say that no one shoud discriminate her in any way cuz thats just so wrong. Thats true. Anti-Lesbian side will say if she just wanted to be with her date, why would it matter at the location she was at. Because it seemed that nobody liked her, so what makes anyone think she would have had more fun at the real party? Its obvious that everyone hated her.
Now do I think people should not be allowed to go into a party due to their preference? No not really. She couldnt really make other people uncomfortable at all. They should be dancing with their own dates, if they seriously have time to just stare at the lesbian couple well....thats their own fault. If you dont like it, turn away. Now would I dance next to a lesbian couple? No good god no |

She got what she wanted a prom and they got what they wanted a prom without her. I don't see the problem. |
